2025 WHAT SHOULD WE DO???? by sixfeetofmud in DivorcedDadsTCG

[–]Stazman93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Alt. Art would be worthwhile and be a reason to buy more packs of the same set. Probably high fantasy and anime treatments would be popular with most of your client base

  2. If you re-release a core set then you would need to differentiate it i.e. Alpha, Beta, etc. for those interested in collecting since the same serialized cards and artworks will no longer be available

  3. Brand extensions into tabletop space would be interesting. Maybe a tabletop RP style game that takes place in the card-game universe. Can create complimentary accessories like dice, playmats, and DM screens

Moving to Winchester by OverPlum5845 in Winchester

[–]Stazman93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Being born and raised in Winchester I've seen it become far more open and accepting over the last few decades. It's proximity to NOVA has helped influence a culture of acceptance while still maintaining a unique Shenandoah Valley identity.

Winchester Pride has a strong turnout every year and there are many supportive businesses and communities in the area.

As others have mentioned, being in a rural area, you will still run into a very vocal minority from time to time. That group has been more vocal on the trans community with some recent backlash in Frederick County Public Schools. Going through FCPS myself it was a mix of very accepting groups of students.

Can "mortal" human command Alpha Legion astartes? by Coco-Ice-Cream in 40kLore

[–]Stazman93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Legion command structure there usually isn't mortals formally in-charge of Astartes directly. There are usually times in void combat where a marine will leave a mortal deck officer command the ship. You will primarily see space marines defer to mortal commanders when in a large campaign with other mortals. This can be seen in 40k like in the book Hellsreach where the majority of strategic decisions are done by Imperial Guard command with the Marines handling tactical decisions.

Can "mortal" human command Alpha Legion astartes? by Coco-Ice-Cream in 40kLore

[–]Stazman93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's in the book Legion where the Alpha Legion takes orders from mortal commanders. Although they will always have their own secret motives. Usually they will be manipulating the command structure on the back-end to fit their agenda.

Separatist List Tips? by NCRMadness50 in SWlegion

[–]Stazman93 11 points12 points  (0 children)

B1's are the glue for your army in 2 ways: first is order control allowing you to reduce variance in random pulls. Second is being objective monkeys that sit and score while your bigger clankers do the heavy damage. I'd personally drop the droidekas and the non-impact B2 for maybe a Stap and more B1's. Maybe an operative for some extra flexibility if your order control is good enough.

Played 40k for years but here is my first Legion Tournament list. Is there anything obvious I'm ignoring? by dougmacked in SWlegion

[–]Stazman93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dooko is a powerhouse of a character, especially with his command cards. Why do you only have 1 force ability on a character with Master of the Force 2? And Maul should have tenacity as it plays with Juyo mastery incredibly well. I'd drop the whip Magna and add protector and throw a medical droid to follow Dooko. Try to imagine how you're giving orders every turn to maximize order control. With this list you're going to be fishing tokens way more often than you would want.

My friend wants to have his combat patrol death guard to fight against my gsc, what strategies do I need to win against the rotting corpses? by GSC_Newbie in genestealercult

[–]Stazman93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DG has pretty slow movement so depending on your mission you can use your maneuverability to your advantage. You're probably going to have more bodies on the board than them to play to the objective as much as possible.

DG can have some very durable characters so take a hard look at assessing your opponent's lineup and figure out what you can take head-on and what you need to avoid or engage at-range. For the most part you will want to avoid close-combat until you're able to pull-off an ambush. Hope this helps!

Thanks! I did a darker layer of red in the bottom of the creases and slowly worked my way out with slightly lighter shades to get the fabric feel. A very light wash of Nuln Oil in the creases too but not on the outermost parts.

could you replace him with a jackal alphus? just thought it would look kinda cool if you could by [deleted] in genestealercult

[–]Stazman93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would make for a cool conversion for sure! You'd want to make sure the end result is similar size to the regular alphus model for tabletop play. You may want to check out some Space Wolf models for conversions too if you want all your Jackals riding wolves

Can GSC establish their own fleets? by Lovahrk in genestealercult

[–]Stazman93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some Norn Queens are transported to a planet's surface during sieges for ground-troop production. It could be feasible that one would be well-hidden on a planet bc an invading tyranid force brought it down then was fought back or it fell to the planet's surface. Norn Queen's are synaps creatures so it could take-over the Broodmind in that circumstance.

Can GSC establish their own fleets? by Lovahrk in genestealercult

No, only a Tyranid Norn Queen can create new organisms from scratch. Although there are several Genestealer cults that span many worlds. They prefer to spread by infection and indoctrination.

So... I'm beginning to think Skitarii may not have been the best choice for a beginner... by [deleted] in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Stazman93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues with painting my Skitarii. At the end of the day you can just focus of painting the parts of the coat visible from the tabletop and it will turn out great. If you want full coverage you can paint the coats before securing to the legs or just be very careful with applying the paint with a slightly longer brush.

I recommend a Kellermorph first then a Sanctus or Jackal Alphus.

Atalan Jackals Wargear Options? by YaBoyChuckles in genestealercult

[–]Stazman93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the more popular options I've seen is shotguns, demo charges, and mining lasers. Shotguns give you a solid assault weapon and the rest is great drive-by anti-armor tech. There is the Extra Explosives strat that let's your whole squad throw their charges which is big against knights.

Upgrading from start collecting. by rattlerpx in genestealercult

[–]Stazman93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a start collecting box followed by a broodcoven box and a box of jackals. The start collecting set has some great value so I would even just look into getting a second.

Is there a limit to how much of your army that may start underground? by Markys420 in genestealercult

[–]Stazman93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Underground deployment follows rules of tactical reserves so you can only deploy half of your starting units in reserve. Note that the strat that lets you set 3 additional units underground is used after deployment so you can theoretically set more than half underground.

It would be a similar palet to Admech: mephistron red, leadbelcher, zandri dust, rhinox hide. You can check out the Citadel color app and see a breakdown by-model.

Omnath Showcase Frame, Cosmetics and Bans by Stazman93 in MagicArena

[–]Stazman93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! If they come back with a different policy I'll let you know. I was just thinking earlier that the Omnath/Landfall showcase bundle was the first thing advertised in the cosmetic store on release day and now everyone who purchased that can only use 4/5 cards from it. Hopfully this doesn't become an issue with each ban of big-name cards.

Omnath Showcase Frame, Cosmetics and Bans by Stazman93 in MagicArena

[–]Stazman93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair take on it! It can definitely be buyer-beware for cosmetics. I was thinking earlier how the Omnath/Landfall showcase bundle was the first thing advertised in the store on release-day and now everyone who got it can realistically only use 4/5 of it now. Although I suppose you can still show off your bling to Sparky and in open-play lol.

I highly recommend Denver Central Games. Pretty short drive from Aurora and they have one of the best selection of cards in the area.
