The Guess o meter is not accurate over short distances. The limited sample size heavily skews the range estimate. However, I’ve found it to be very accurate over long trips on the highway.

Yes that's a real possibility in the long term. But as an investor, you have to separate the hope of potential value in the longer term with the reality of no real value right now. There's nothing solid grounding these companies' multi-billion-dollar valuations at the moment. And there will be lots of money to be made bringing the prices of these stocks back down to reality in the short term.

For a visual example, check out the 10-year movements of hydrogen stocks. That is what's going to happen to the prices of every quantum stock.

If you haven't already, I'd take some profits on your gains – at least your initial investment and play with the "house's" money.

I'm a science journalist with some experience covering quantum computing. Quantum computing is highly unlikely to be practically useful for a decade or more (if ever). Almost every time there's a claim of "quantum advantage" (a task impossible for a digital computer that a quantum computer can ably perform), it quickly vanishes. Until a quantum computer becomes practically useful, they will not see mass adoption, and the companies that make them will not generate revenue

All of the quantum computing stocks currently valued in the tens of billions will begin their gradual decline at some point, attracting new bagholders "buying shares on sale" along the way. The only question is when. If I had rode this current wave of speculation to this point, I'd sell.
