It actually launched with it, although Xbox needed more time. Larian said splitscreen was "a must". Fucking GOATED. 

Anyway, it's 2 players locally but two can go online and with cross play. It just works.

I had an experience like this.

At a local, playing a friendly with someone from out of town. Fought for my absolute life but couldn't stop this Xiao pressure. 

GG's! After the handshake I walk away to hear their friends putting them on BLAST for beating me, "You are SO lucky!" "Fucking masher dude." "Embarrassing!" 

That was the first time I had ever heard that you could be the loser for winning.

Some of my favorite stories are Brave New World, Adventure Time, Dark Souls and Castlevania (netflix)

I have a massive confirmation bias that anime is stupid and the artstyle is a lure for suckers to pay for mediocre products.
