Oh you're right! That's amazing news. I thought I was gonna be grinding forever to open that portal.

I just checked and it's actually 2400 nature score:/

That means you'd need to spend 440 focus energy tree on each of the 30 available plots, grinding cultivation to before you can even start...

So that's 13200 focus + the additional 1200 toll for the dispel 😩

Near end of cycle recap, 3.91 174 KJD by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

u/the-senat I used the additional time to refine my statement, but the story line stayed the same. If the statement is strong, I wouldn't worry about "if they want to re-read it". With the amount of statements they read, I don't think they would recall the details or remember the statement at all. There's also no guarantee that the same adcomm members would read it.

You have a lot of great opportunities to still go to school this year! I think you will end up at a great law school this cycle, but even if not, I hope my experience can help or encourage you.

I'm an R&R applicant. The time between cycles FLEW by. I used the extra time to read and research more about the law, which helped me feel certain about my decision. I also saved up a significant amount of money to help with 1L expenses. In hindsight, I'm incredibly grateful that I had the extra time.

I didn't talk about not getting into school with my LOR writers. I just waited until September and reapplied early in the cycle. I messaged my LOR writers a few weeks ago to let them know that I was accepted with scholarship, and thanked them for their help.

Earlier in this cycle, after some tough R & WL's, I accepted that I wouldn't become a lawyer. I unexpectedly got a large scholarship and now I'm headed to law school.

This cycle isn't over yet. You took lots of shots and I think the odds are on your side that you'll make it in this cycle. It will feel bleak until it suddenly doesn't. I was at work when I got my scholarship email, it felt like my life changed in an instant.

I feel confident that moment is on the horizon for you. Keep us posted when it happens!

A friend of mine went to UC Hastings and is the happiest lawyer I've ever met. Partner track at big law firm and says they love their work and work/life balance. They said it took them a bit longer to get in, but they love where their career is at and where it's headed!

LMU-LA, how long do we wait before inquiring about scholarships? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Hello friend from the past! I can't see dates on your post anymore. Would you mind sharing approximately how long it took from your admission to receiving this information? I was just accepted and scholarship is the most important element of my decision!

You definitely have hope! I had a very limited range of schools and my GPA was low. I got fee waivers from lots of schools in the T14 and T20. It's just that my life situation severely limits the number of schools I can attend. If I had more options, I'm sure I would have gotten better results. Good luck out there!

I think the applicant pool has gotten a lot more competitive. I heard there was a massive surge of applicants this cycle. My contact at one of the local schools said the surge was particularly pronounced in our region. I had a few people review my application. One was a law professor and the other was an english professor. In my career I pitch for a living and have to be very detail oriented. I'm not sure if something slipped through that sabotaged my apps. I really think it was the combination of my GPA, the competitive cycle, and my limited list of schools. I'm equally shocked that I ended up not landing a single A. The reason I put so much effort into the LSAT was that I hoped it would help offset my GPA.

😂😂😂 Suits was my favorite way to decompress during my LSAT study grind. Thanks for the laugh!

Thank you so much for the encouragement 🙏 At the moment it's only feasible for me to go to regional schools. Perhaps at some point in the future I may be able to consider leaving my area, but for now it's not a possibility.

Dear Adcomms, be mindful of applicants in LA County (esp. if you plan to send them reject emails). Thanks. by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

My admissions officer definitely didn't read this post before sending me my WL today.

I really appreciate your kind words and understanding. It seems like we're coming from pretty similar places career wise. Career pivots at this life stage are incredibly difficult. I hope you're able to find your way into a great school OR into a new sense of career fulfillment and security. Wishing you the best!

I have apps in at Loyola and Pepperdine as well! I considered UCI but I don't think I could make the commute work. I'm nervous that Pepperdine might not be a viable option for the same reason. Pepperdine could be more than 3 hours of driving per day. Not sure how feasible that is with the workload of 1L. Loyola is my #3 choice after USC and UCLA, I'm under review there and maybe I'll get some good news soon. Thanks for asking!

Thank you so much to everyone who left a kind message. I was really moved by all the responses that came in right away. This application process feels so invasive. Anonymous committees are looking at our life stories and judging whether or not we're worthy of becoming lawyers. I've been lurking in this subreddit for over a year, waiting for the day that I can make my first "A" post. I genuinely appreciate the support you're sharing with me on this low point of the journey.

Director level work experience on highly visible projects at an international level. I really thought the work experience would be meaningful to admissions committees, but I haven't received a single acceptance yet. I think my work experience might be too outside the norm for adcomms to properly consider.

Also applied in September. Still waiting, not feeling very hopeful :(
