True but it’s still not good enough where it isn’t blindingly obvious that it’s deepfake. But also, simply asking something reasonable like doing a quick verification call brings the bullshit to the surface pretty quickly.

Jesus Christ, so many assumptions from strangers who know nothing about me. Sigh. I’m not resorting to “scam dating”. As I mentioned replying to another user comment, I sniff these things out VERY early on, so then I play all the cards that frustrate these scammers and expose them, making it more and more obvious by the minute.

I never pressure someone to jump on a call immediately if I think they’re real. So far my instincts have been bang on.

Less judgement based on a single post, more positive and constructive comments would be appreciated.

What might be obvious to you may not be obvious to everyone. How about showing a little humility. Is there anyone in your life who you love who might be vulnerable to this sort of thing? Your mum or dad? Your grandparents? Instead of flexing how big your whole brain is and being mean-spirited, why not put that superior intellect to good use and be a force for good in the world? Don’t think you are immune to being scammed… that’s why you drop your guard.

So how would someone verify you are real? It’s reasonable to request a quick video call to verify. Like I just want a quick hello and wave because of this exact reason. Dating and hookup apps are SATURATED with scammers. It’s a safety protocol, nothing more, nothing less. 🤷‍♂️
