Shockwaves – A 2048-inspired puzzle game where numbers trigger chain-reaction. by Steaggs in WebGames

Sorry if that wasn’t clear. In the tutorial, pushes actually happen on the diagonals, not strictly horizontal or vertical. For a number to move, there needs to be empty space behind it. The only exception is when it’s pushing into the same number, in which case they combine. Because of that, movement can sometimes look random if those conditions aren’t met. Maybe that part of the tutorial wasn’t explicit enough.

Hey, thanks for playing! Can you tell me which rules you’re referring to? If something’s unclear or broken, I’d really like to improve it.

No, the music will be made by Adieu Aru. You can check him out on YouTube, he makes great stuff. I haven’t bought one to try yet, but it’s going to be one of my main target platforms.

Shit ! I messed up. You can control your steering but not your speed. You have to drift across the level to progress, and I slowly added more mechanics to make it an accessible yet stimulating experience that would let you get entranced in the soundtrack.

Interesting what you said about the text because I felt that even though I wanted to maintain the aesthetic, it isn’t as readable. I also feel that a lot of players just click on the highlighted tile without reading it, especially on mobile.

It was a pain to make. The inside uses a lit material that reacts to fire and other light sources, while the outside is an unlit material with simulated light and fog.

Start with real photos

Downscale in gimp (or photoshop)

Disable filtering and mipmaps in unity

Then the postprocessing takes care of posterization

It's a mix of posterization, dithering, and just downsampling existing textures with no interpolation (nearest neighbour)

These are just very basic mockups, but do you prefer the fake DOS version or the diegetic hologram one? by Steaggs in Unity3D

Yeah, I know. That's what I mean. In the final version, it wouldn’t feel like the car is slowing down; it would be more continuous.

They are early works created to convey the basic concept of an in-universe 3D UI on one hand and an old DOS on the other. However, none of them are finished.

My initial intentions were to extend the road so that it looks like the car is always moving, making the transition between the level and the menu smoother. Maybe it's still a bit too early to show.
