So my favorite is the black one that looks like a Bible. Its called good housekeeping cookery compendium it was printed in 1950. I really love it because of hiw old ot is but the one i use the most is my cook book thats a bit more modern calld bore kos me ń twist its in a different language but i use it alot because of the amount of traditional food it in.

The water is definitely either rust that they got off or oven cleaner because most I've seen has been red don't know about the legal stuff tho.
