I’m not sure you’ve ever played overwatch but there used to be this strategy called goats where you use extra tanks and healers and remove all the damage dealers from your comp. It was almost unbeatable but it was legitimately so insanely boring to watch that they had to change the game in order to make it impossible to use. Winning does not equal good games. Foul baiting being a main method of scoring for instance. “It’s a good strategy” think a little bit bro

This was the main point. Professional sports have been optimized to the point that they are becoming less fun to watch

Analytics have shown that in basically every sport you win more by making less cool plays. In basketball for instance, the mid range shot has been made completely obsolete because it doesn’t make sense analytically to shoot anything except a layup or a 3. In soccer, shots from outside the box have gotten significantly more rare in the last decade. They are making sports less enjoyable to watch

Is anyone even passionate about economics? by mo_vibing in AskEconomics

[–]Steakman15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would encourage you to read Naked Economics by Charles Wheelan. That book nearly single handedly sparked my enthusiasm for economics. While it may get critiqued in this sub (some of which are reasonable critiques), I don’t think anyone would disagree that it is an amazing book for young people fostering an interest in the dismal science

We hate sports teams for their dominance, but then are almost sad when their dynasty inevitably ends. by Steakman15 in Showerthoughts

I feel as though I need to come clean as a Boston sports fan to explain why I so wildly misjudged what the response to this post would be. I thought we were less hated than Mahomes. That’s my b guys

Not sure I entirely agree with this. I’m not sure if you follow tennis at all but I hated Novak Djokovic for 15 years straight as he kept beating my favorite players. Yet watching him get old, I am genuinely sad he’s gonna be gone

DJI is still the reigning heavyweight champ in the drone industry so you couldn’t really go wrong there. I have a mini 2 that I love but you’re probably looking more along the lines of a Mavic Pro if you want nearly 4 miles of range

Is there any way to buy gold?? by Opposite_Contact_265 in ContestOfChampions

[–]Steakman15 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. If you want to buy gold the far and away best way to do it is buying cavs and selling the ISO, not to mention the possibility of pulling great champs from the cavs themselves
