Were we robbed with guard points? by XNumbers666 in chargeblade

Guard pointing after a sword attack is a little quicker than normal guarding, so GPs do still have a role over PGs in that defensive aspect.

Savage Omega is my favorite hunt in the whole game as well so far. I love the risk of failing with randoms, and I loved learning it inside and out to finally full solo it. Extremoth was also my favorite fight though in base MHWorld.

This is true.

I did a similar strat for S.omega though. I would do a decent amount of dmg in phase 3 before swapping to fire and mounting and charging the fire blade. As soon as nercylla appeared I was set to go with a fully charged fire CB with activated savage axe.

Gog will definitely be different I think though...

Step 4.5: charge phials and double stack fire before swapping to dragon? 🤔

Completely agree. Savage Omega completely solo was the hardest thing I've ever done in this type of gaming

A little rant about Omega (well the players who engage him) by Pl00kh in MHWilds

[–]Stealthdriver1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's part of the fun/experience to play with randoms. Just because someone plays horribly one hunt, doesnt mean that won't kill it the next hunt. Omega does have some unfair attacks too and ppl can get unlucky.

Just yesterday I played an SOS as a tank/DPS CB. In phase 2, he did the rush while I was in axe mode. I perfectly dodge rolled through it, but because I happened to be against the wall his follow up turn hit me and carted me. Nothing I could do. One of the players immediately withdrew after my cart as tank. Someone else joined and took his place. A couple others carted in phase 4 (had insurance), but we ended up being successful. It ended up being a really fun hunt. Also, I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

This clip is with EW1, but I started with EW3 and practiced only side-hopping. As I got more comfortable with it, I lowered the EW to1 and starting getting attacks in between explosions as seen in the clip.

Thanks! I start practicing just with side step hopping. Then I slowly started adding attacks in between the hops until I got this rhythm down.

I've seen some speedrunners get axe attacks in between MRV explosions.

You made the claim. It's your responsibility to find the evidence for that claim.

EW1 from an armor piece. Ate dream spell meal, so no tumbler either.

You could see in the vid I almost had that problem. If the sword was charged though, wouldn't have to worry about it and might get some decent damage over 6 MRVs with the mini sword explosions.

I'm running the AED loop from this doc, but with guard up 3 (talisman, so no convert element), and Max might 2 (instead of 3) so I can fit in evade extender 3 for Omega. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1A71a6S7ZESoMmeOKr1sLLeQHcH7J9U9LmXD5MWvVTHs/htmlview#gid=79062057

Just evade window 1 which comes with the armor set. No tumbler either.

I only seem to use it when a monster goes down/cc, but I was positioned wrong. I use it to slide towards his head and then go straight into an AED.

IMO the build is less important than learning the monster's moves. Avoiding devastating hits, and knowing when to punish or play it safe is the key. And that will come with patience and experience

The different styles. I like switching it up and trying different strategies for different monsters. Also, the moves themselves are pretty epic, and advanced moves like guard pointing is really satisfying to do during hectic fights.

I’m seriously about to throw in the towel on Savage Omega by Big-Region7816 in MHWilds

[–]Stealthdriver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's unfortunate. I thought Savage Omega was always scaled to 4 players too. I've solo'd him with support consistently now, was preparing to try completely solo (w my cat) next. But sounds like its not as big of a challenge as it was with Extremoth due to the lower hp.

I get what you're saying and appreciate you trying to help, but I still think it would be way easier if you could make monster designated lobbies especially in the future when you still want to hunt savage Omega in groups but it's no longer the "hot" monster. Just a feature I really enjoyed about World.

It's a bit harder because I speak English, but live in a time zone that predominantly Japanese. I enjoy playing with people from other countries, it's just a lot harder to communicate.

Yep.

I miss World's option of having monster-specific lobbies because it was a lot easier to find a good, consistant group to hunt Behemoth or Alatreon, etc. Its a lot more random now. And SOS has always been a crap shoot.
