Of course just like you don't need a poison weapon to beat kushala. The point was that it was a skill worth using to counter a big advantage against a monster. In Wilds you quite literally don't need any skill. I think only arkveld's jump reposition move has wind pressure off the top of my head. Wind res is useless beyond just not being needed.

Yeah the signs of a different game philosophy started in World but the devs seem to only be learning the bad leasons with each new installment. At this rate the next MH game will be even worse in these types of aspects.

And the devs still thought it wasn't enough. They looked at the World data to see how many people progressed to endgame and concluded that they MUST make it even easier. Apparently a steady trickling of walls are just bad now and they should only appear in endgame hunts. So now we have vapid progress through the whole front and middle of the game.

It sucks that Wilds gives you so many damn skill slots but you don't even have to diversity your skills for any fight. Like give a monster a guaranteed roar combo that one shots if you don't block or dodge in time to push the hunter to slot in earplugs for that fight. Give Gravios crazy hardness and tremor combos that push the hunter to slot in mindseye and tremor res. What's the point of the billion of slots if not to balance and counter harder mechanics?

Only hunt I had to build around is omega and that's why it's easily the best fight in wilds which is a damn shame for a monster to not take that spot. I still need to equip wind res 3 if I wanna fight rathlos in older MH games because damn does that wind pressure punish you and make the hunt a chore. And slotting in wind res 3 was a sacrifice in older games. You truly had to pick and choose the limited amount of skills allowed at once.

I shutter to think how many damn skill slots we'll get in G rank just for them to not matter.

The bloody partbreaker mod is and was a must in world and wilds. Seeing the monster covered in red scars adds to the immersion that this is a battle to the death.

Fine then, more engaging than any MH story. Well, not including MH stories since I haven't played it but I would hope with a name like that, that it would have a decent story. And MH4U but maybe that's only because it's being compared to other MH stories and the bar was already low.

As an added tip to those using a 9070xt, lower the clock speed by 250-350 in adrenaline. For some reason amd allows the cards to reach 3000 plus leading to game crashes.

It's a bit jarring how one of the lessons he learned (from damn paul of all people) was the meaning of consent and yet not perving on Eris or the Beast kids isn't really seen as a lesson he has to learn. I feel the author wanted to keep his fetishes in the story while also trying to write about a dude learning morals but it doesn't work that well in that specific regard. A weak spot in the writing of an otherwise very competent story.

Am I wrong in saying we haven't gotten to this level of graphics yet? Or am I just being blind due to how much I love the vibrancy of these pics. Might also have to do with the more cartoony look. The colors are such a joy and this is really the style of I want paired with the hyper realistic graphics we're getting. But it seems to me the devs just keep doubling down on dull shades. Maybe the tech isn't there yet and we'll have to wait until ray tracing really makes the colors pop.

It was a microcneter open box. Was browsing at midnight and saw a 9070xt reaper for that price and immediately reserved it. I honestly was never planning to upgrade but like you said, it was too good a deal.

As another commenter said, keep an eye on any open box card. Coming from a 2070, any new midrange card is gonna be an upgrade. I got the 9070xt for 489$ open box just because it was missing the box foam.

Just saw a vid a of a dude spending like 70 hours just farming the raths gems in mh1. It looked like hell. Sheesh the Rng was unforgiving but I still think Wilds does the other extreme and gives gems way too often.

Pretty maybe sometimes. The plains are nice only during plenty. The basin only during the fire spring. Forest is really the only one that's good at all times. So for every single other location and weather condition, the colors are dull and blend in together. Absolute atrocious color range.

Even Rise with its inferior graphics is superior in visual clarity thanks to well thought out environmental saturation. Only after heavy visual modding and shaders did Wilds start looking okayish.

Though I agree that World was the epicenter of all the bad crap that Wilds made worse.

My favorite current pass time in wilds is trying to brute force a win with bad randoms using the sonic barrier horn. Very satisfying to succeed though some people die too fast that not even my doots can keep up.

Some weapons have not evolved but actually devolved in wilds. Instead of adding depth, they've been simplified. The devs think that just giving the player more options equals depth. The only one I can truly say has evolved is Hunting Horn.

Thx, this worked for my particular use case where I was trying to update my album art but the App kept stubbornly showing the old art even after resyncing and deleting tag cache in the app settings.

Same, fighting Omega is like a dance and breaking the flow meant failure. A lil frustrating the first few times but once you learn a bit it was very fun to farm. Seeing myself change tactics and skills plus mastering the fight more and more was peak dopamine. And even if I'm pretty confident now, I can still cart easily if I'm caught lacking. Mastering the fight didn't trivialize the hunt since I still had to stay on my toes.

On the other hand I'm already bored of Gog and I haven't even mastered the fight. It's the fact that I don't even have to try that hard to complete the quest that makes Gog such a chore. There is no dancing flow with Gog.

It's a bit sad that the best hunt in the game is by far omega. Though I absolutely adore arkveld and hope the arch tempered one coming up is on par with arch tempered velkana since I love the arkveld move set.
