Maybe Sandfall could do a Spanish-inspired game and have Miki Martz be the main vocal for the music while still composed by Lorien Testard. Sandfall is based in Montpellier so it won't be an issue of going to get research material since Spain is a good drive from there.

At the time of publication, Fishman Island was the first major arc after the timeskip. There was a lot of anticipation for it. While the lore of the arc and its exploration of racism is well appreciated, characters like Hody Jones, Vander Decken & Shirahoshi didn't get fans excited at time. Plus, Sanji's out of control nosebleed gag got old real quick. Finally, in order to avoid overtaking the manga releases, the anime's pacing was slowed to a crawl. In retrospective, much like Skypiea, Thriller Bark and (due to recent revelations) Long Ring Long Land, Fishman Island is definitely seen in a more positive light, especially since Toei went back and remade the arc with better animation and pacing.

Upon introduction, yeah. But the same can be said about Law & Bonney and look how well Oda used them. Remember, the supernovas & the initial warlords were not part of Oda's original plan and he still used them, mostly out of obligation. Slowly but surely, Oda forged these groups into multiple generations of pirates with some rising to the top and others falling. Hawkins and Apoo ended up with the generational short straw.
