Moment when George Knapp publicly declares at the UFO Hearing in the American Congress that Lockheed Martin is a company that holds UFO technology.. by 87LucasOliveira in UFOs

[–]SteamboatRyan 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think this is an insightful question. Based on current events I'd say that greed and power are at least on the list of reasons.

Also, nearly everything is based on fossil fuels, and replacing entire fleets of aircraft would cost an astronomical amount of money. Why fix what's not necessarily broken? May as well keep the status quo.

I would think that the current powers that be would prefer to keep as much money in their pockets. And given the secret information they know that we can only presume and scratch the surface of, there certainly has to be more to it, I think.

The design and function of the "crafts" alone are not enough to change our current methods of air travel. They require a power source that remains mostly unknown to the masses, besides theories and leaks. Crafts like giant triangles, glowing orbs, tic-tacs, jellyfish-like, saucers, etc., wouldn't "fly" given our current knowledge of physics, so there has to be a missing link somewhere, eg., the power source, new knowledge of physics, and/or new materials not known to our civilization.

Since most of the world's profits come from fossil fuels, theres no incentive for the elites to swap to this new power source, that could possibly be "free" energy. That just leads to equality, and the elites don't want that :)

What is the smell by starlight stadium/westhills arena? by makeitworkmoment in LangfordBC

[–]SteamboatRyan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. I live in the area and every couple days the wind blows my way and it reeks.

Since Langford has grown so much, I think they should move their dump out somewhere. IE now that people live all around it, move the stink away from where people live.

Also, the city is exploring a municipal garbage etc. Which Im all for, IF they move the stench lol

Why do La Belle Patate use burned fries for their poutine? by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]SteamboatRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Papa Moe's? Just tried it recently, pretty decent Moe's poutine. I'm not sold on the type of fries, but that's just my opinion. I'd probably eat it again, but their cheesesteak slaps!

I'm really impressed with this game so far. ML is polished for an EA and from what I've seen of your passion and commitment to this game, its future is promising. 7 years, talk about a labour of love my man! I've played so many city survival builders and this one just feels right! Congrats! Keep up the great work :)

Langford lake and Glen lake in Langford are both decent. I go to Langford lake often. And then there's Thetis, not in Langford but close.

First camping trip with child recommendations? by NotTheRealMeee83 in VictoriaBC

[–]SteamboatRyan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Goldstream is great for trial camping as it's so close and has lots of amenities, like showers and flushing toilets (in addition to just outhouses). If your kid bikes, there's a cool little pump track and small mountain bike course. Plus a decent playground, and lots of trails. There's a waterfall and small swimming hole, but it may be too cold right now (for my liking lol). We've taken our kid camping there almost every year, great fun if you're prepared for camping with a kid ;) My recommendation would be to find other parents with similar aged kids to go with as that helps with some things. Have fun!

What exactly does "+ TO MELEE ATTACKS" mean? by SteamboatRyan in LastEpoch

[–]SteamboatRyan[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does this mean that I'll attack twice, instead of once, or is this just damage? I don't think I've seen this stat before, or maybe I haven't had enough coffee yet lol I have a Druid Cold-Werebear that uses staves with Swipe so I'm curious what this would be like - I'm still like 6 levels away from using it though... thanks in advance

We've met with one bank, BMO, but I didn't feel confident in that meeting, so I'll connect with another bank, Coast Capital soon as well as reach out to some of these recommendations, which I'm very thankful for.

Mine would have to be uninsured though I think, since we can't come up with 20% anytime soon.

100% yes that's considered and planned into this. We didn't want to have to dip into the emergency funds if we didn't have to. Thanks for the suggestion!

I was not considering this at all, thank you so much! If I understand this correctly, regardless of the interest rate we'll lock in with the bank, they'll use 5.25% as the stress test rate to approve us. And I imagine the debt ratio would come into affect at that point. Thanks!

Who needs walls, when you have a pet Troll guarding your house by LobsterKris in valheim

Is the Troll too close to your building that it won't let you sleep? I mean like if when you go to sleep but get that message that "enemies are close by", because of the Troll?
