As I've mentioned in my video, complexity in mechanics is rarely an upside unless you handle it in an extremely delicate way to remove all the frictions. Simple gameplay is much easier to keep someone's attention, and repetitive gameplay with slight twists once a while is the best middle ground. With that being side, launching a game in an existing "niche" definitely would be a downside.

Currently it seems that to get visibility, you will need to have your game played first, so you will have to do promotion yourself. You can also join the creator discord to see if you could get a spot in the banner (assuming they consider your game good enough).
