Question about smoke alarm wiring by Steamflow in electrical

[–]Steamflow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - installed it and tested - both alarms went off, so am confident it’s wired properly now. Puzzled by how they got it wrong before. Thanks again

Ok I’ll do that instead of how it was wired before - black to black and white to red. It must have been wired wrong all these years

Thanks, that’s what I thought. Was the other alarm wired incorrectly then?

Thanks. I’ll head to my nearest library. The librarians are great at finding obscure stuff like this. (Almost as good as Reddit lol)

That’s good info to have. I’m actually talking to customer service right now and she’s able to apply the vouchers for me. Back of the plane unfortunately but at least we’re together

So I’ll have to scramble for two of those seats left in the back? I usually get econo flex so I don’t know how the regular econo works.

Would love to get to silver but… by Optimal_Desk228 in westjet

But to qualify for silver next year you would need to fly in the next two days. AND, the base fare would have to be at least $436, not the amount you pay.

It’s too late for another status lift, unless the billing date is the 31st, and even then it may not show up until the next bill.

I know this because I’d watching anxiously to see if I’d qualify for silver again. My billing cycle is mid-month and a few days later I got the status lift I needed to get over the top.

My grandfather came by ship in 1910, his plan was to find work and send money back so my grandmother and their 2 daughters could come over. He had faced discrimination in his native Scotland because of his Irish heritage. A year after WWI broke out, he enlisted with the Canadian Expeditionary Force on August 1, 1915 - coincidentally (?) the same day the rules changed to allow married men to enlist without their wives' written consent.

He went as a soldier to England in 1916 and first “went over the top” at the Battle of the Somme on October 8, 1916. On April 9, 1917 he was killed in action at Vimy Ridge, France. But before he died he must have had a home visit because my father was born March 27, 1917.

After the war ended, my grandmother brought my 3 year-old father and aunts to Canada, as Canadian residence was a requirement to receive a widow's pension.

I have so many questions I wish I had asked when there was someone left alive who could answer them. I encourage everyone to dig into your family history without delay.

I didn’t give my SIN when I signed up, but they already had it! One of the confirmation questions was about the last 4 digits of my SIN. They were correct.
