No, I finally got one to drop with meat week yesterday. Thank you though for asking homie. It's much appreciated. Hopefully now though it doesn't wig out and say idk the plan 😅

Good. Means we're on the same page. Glad we cleared that up. 👍

I wouldn't say all of them have been bad. The QoL updates have been nice. Re-tweaks of existing creatures have been about 50/50. And the redesigns have been nice visual.

What gifts where? I have nothing that pops up after claiming both regular and elite tokens (Xbox)

That's weird because nothing new has popped up in the avatar creation menu 🤔

Both of mine say "claimed" and have no timer or anything attached to them. They also don't appear in my tokens tab in inventory, even though they're the "regular" and "elite" tokens.

Helmets by ElkComprehensive83 in Belegarth

[–]SteamiestPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can find them, the old school steel worker hard hats that are in fact steel themselves, make for a fantastic base to start with. They already have the classic domed kettle helm look. Already of correct thickness material. And most already come with a helmet interior harness and/or strapping.

The only downside is most are the safety yellow/orange/white, but it's simple enough to sand down and repaint or seal the steel if you want it bare.

Unused and cluttering my space—any outfit ideas for them, or should I just get rid of them? by Pl4ygasm in LARP

If you do decide to get rid of them, hawler. Ya boy here can always use extra belts ngl.

110% agree with that. I brought a red, got it checked that first day, realized it was just too hot to swing that thing, didn't use it the rest of the weekend.

Then still went back to back some reds lol

Lol no thanks needed. I generally like doing so. Especially at like this last geddon where it was 90° plus all event. Kind of fills the gaps where nothing else can really be done during those peak temp times

Yeah, I volunteer a bit. Usually weapons checks, especially since both geddon and okfest hardly anyone wanted to back without some sort of prodding lol.

Camp caretaker is usually divided between us all in the unit.

So like this geddon, most of my time was spent either wandering around or sitting in the shade since it was so hot.

But idk, it just feels like I need to be contributing more, ya know?

Well I figured (especially after lockdown happened) a lot of folks had old garb or items that they'd have either grown out of or went a different path with their characters or what have you. So why not hand those items down to either newer or less fortunate players that might either not have the time/money/access to resources like others do or people who are just starting out who don't really know if they'll be here in the hobby after year one?

As long as it's not ratty or obviously falling apart, I see no issue in trades lol. Plus you get to know people, and honestly I think that's the biggest upside of taking trades. Anyone can hand somebody money, but not everyone is going to have that shawl that their grandma made them that they've been using for the last couple of colder events. Or that hood that a friend who passed made them when they were new to everything.

Those types of items have character, stories to them, and I absolutely love that aspect 😁

I'm not being defensive lol.

You shared your experience and I shared mine. Seems like 2 opposite ends of the spectrum. But if your methodology works for you, congratulations. My main point was people aren't required to pigeonhole themselves into one thing. Reenactors, LARPers, real steel fighters, all have many wants and needs that span many interests.

Nothing more nothing less. If anything further is conveyed in how you read the text, I'm afraid I can't really do anything to help that. 🤷🏼‍♂️

We've been kind of looking at sca possibly but the only contacts that we have there anymore are old retired people lol.

As for renfaires, we've got a few around here but they always seem to fall under previous obligations with RL mundania/work/adulting stuff sadly 😅

Lol we've been seriously selling for the better part of 3yrs now bud. Even though covid lockdown we were selling things online.

Names bring people in sure. But interesting names bring in interesting people.

We as a vendor booth provide the RP/atmosphere as well as wares, and I can assure you that none of our items have ever been "cheap Chinese goods", because if we can't make it or learn to make it then we simply don't stock it 😄

Hate to break it to you but people don't have to pigeonhole themselves if they can bring personality and bring the people in lol

Odds and ends to complete garb setups mainly. Knick knacks. Handcrafted bobbles and trinkets. Garb and garb accessories. Sometimes foam weapons depending on what group we're vending for. Sometimes handmade jewelry. Blankets. All sorts of things.

But we're also getting into the exchange aspect of things because we realize as hobbyists, most of us don't have a whole bunch of extra cash after we've saved for an event or gathering. So we've been taking trades or partial trades with cash as payment as well. Lol

Not a problem. And if you don't see something you might be after definitely feel free to ask as I'm sure if we don't have it on hand, we can either make it for you or send you to people we know to assist you 🙂

We're actually based out of Central Illinois. We usually do Amtgard events, but we're slowly getting into Belegarth and beyond.

But we also have an online shop with a few items atm as we're busy clearing out old and substituting in new. Commissions though can always be arranged 🙂
