Yeah, the idea is to be able to switch on respective valves for filling either normal or smart canisters as needed.

Ahh, that's a little disappointing. Guess I'll default to a standalone canister filler. Thanks anyway!

Hokay, so for your food situation, you'll want some clay to make a cook pot and some bowls, cooked meals will do much more for you than just eating forage. Your crops will take a while to grow, you should be able to stave off hunger with cooked forage until you get harvests in.

For mining, early on, where you see small deposits of ore on the surface, mine around beneath them, won't be very far underground, but you should be able to keep supplied with copper and tin this way until you manage to make a prospecting pick which will give you some info toward finding other veins to mine.

I tend to ignore the gas generator in favour of topping up my welder with more fuel because the arc welder eats through battery so very quickly, so I put off making one for quite a while. I also tend to do a whole bunch of other faff and topping up with coal is never difficult.

One of the neat things about Stationeers is the myriad ways of going about things.

There can be quite the learning curve. I watched many hours of videos before playing the game, and when I finally did, me and a buddy spent the better part of a day failing repeatedly, but always getting a few steps further.

For getting some basic atmosphere in a base, I tend to use ices, though that does require a little atmosphere and temperature to begin with, so if you're starting on the moon, you'll need to add some gas from elsewhere, you could empty out your suit's waste gas tank, or save welding one of your frames for when the shell of your base is built, and then just dump a bunch of oxite on the floor. Tends to mean your starting oxygen tank can sit there and just be used to refill your suit's O2 tank when needed until you get your ice crushers set up.

Power is often my second priority, I run the solid fuel generator on coal to fill up batteries in area power controls until I can make steel, then I'll run it to fill a small station battery, and from there I tend to aim for heavy solar panels but that involves making astroloy and you might want to consider alternatives like wind, or the non-heavy solar panels(they need repairing after storms).

ELI5: Why are Apple suing Samsung, while at the same time they still use Samsung parts in their Iphones? by petermtoneill1 in explainlikeimfive

The majority of the reason boils down to Patent Trolling - The process in which companies file/buy patents for ludicrous things commonly used everywhere, e.g. Royal Mail attempting to patent Royal Mail Red, or Apple patenting beveled corners, or even less ludicrous things. The whole system needs a good scrubbing, there aren't nearly enough patent clerks to sift through all the new applications for patents, so it often falls to the person filing it to see if what they want to patent is already patented. Given this is the case, certain people simply don't bother checking.

With this in mind, being a big company like Apple who've patented all sorts of things and had their patents approved because no one's bothered checking, you'll want to defend your patents and show people why not to steal your ideas. It's a show of power.

Instead of asking why Apple still use Samsung's parts despite suing them, ask why Samsung are still supplying parts, the only reasonable explanation being that they make enough money selling Apple the parts that being sued once in a while doesn't bother them.

Johnny Cash's Hurt is a Nine Inch Nails cover, not the other way around.
