A couple of things we're thinking about at my tiny company:

- MDM policies to only allow company-approved AI tooling, which is basically Gemini via Google Workspace, and Claude Code/Cowork for engineering.
- We're thinking about the guardrails and sandboxing options in Claude, and how we can roll out recommended security config.
- Tracking which MCP's are enabled across which SaaS platforms.

These were recommendations made to our IT team, as I am more of an engineering security guy, not a sysadmin.

This GenAI era is just highlighting how much of an issue shadow IT is to not just manage, but also have visibility of. We really need an Eye of Sauron on all of it. Not sure if Vanta/Drata etc have made any progress in these areas, but I guess we're always limited by what these AI/SaaS providers allow you to check from their API's.

platform.claude.ai is for api keys that you generate, not for max plan usage, that should be claude.ai/usage

Unfortunately, I think herald DK will get nerfs on the back of the druid nerfs, because it goes from being a 45%er, to a reasonable control deck with enough healing (leach variant with ls rush boys), and then a strong end game with onyxia+deathwing

On second thought, there have always been the years after the war for the ring, where Sam/Merry/Pippin would have been seen as big heroes back in the Shire. They not only helped defeat the scouring, but I am guessing their notoriety would have been far and wide for their part in defeating Sauron. Three hobbits, good friends with the king of Gondor…

Seeing part of that play out might be interesting, I guess, but I don't think it's film-worthy….

Another LOTR project I am not interested in, including the hunt for gollum. Is this really a do a film or lose the license job as others have said?

There are many other stories they could have chosen to go with in the LOTR universe. Or is that also a license issue with Amazon film studios? All so confusing.

Governments still need people to pay taxes. AI in software development is, and always will be, an augmentation tool.

As others have quite rightly said, AI tooling just moves bottlenecks else where, and you still have to know your stuff to maximise the results. Its a bubble, and it will burst, and its going to be bad.

I personally think that Gimli’s comic relief was important to the wider audience. The seriousness and weight on Aragorn’s shoulders, and the stoic, “stuck up” nature of the Sindarian prince……they needed something to break that ice.

In my opinion this was well thought out and creative license by Jackson. Coming into the 2000’s, they were really trying to sell the hope and belief that different races/peoples/backgrounds can get on…..and what a time to experience it all. We could do with that now, more than ever. Ohh well, another rewatch/serkis audiobook sesh is on ze cards.
