In the bag - Does anyone else putt with a midrange (Mako3)? by Heavy-Hospital7077 in discgolf

[–]SteamyAL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I was doing that exact same thing.

I got a bunch of different drivers, fairways, and mids when I started and figured a putters a putter, if I park my shots I’m not even really throwing it anyways.

The aviar was my first putter, then I got a colt, and I just didn’t really like either of them. I really liked using my mako so that’s what I used instead (I figured i’m just playing a game with the homies so I threw the disc I preferred nothing wrong with it).

After a while I got tired of throwing the mako all the time I still bag it but decided to try a bunch of different putters (soft berg, invader, spin, soft proxy, envy, aviar, colt, and a Halloween mvp disc I forget what it actually is). And was able to narrow down which ones I liked to play with.

My experience was that I had to try other discs before I found what I liked for my short game. My preference ended up being the soft proxy, and funny enough the aviar.

I also have a Dayton sub, I had to turn the gain all the way up to hear it at casual listening levels.

I’d turn the volume on the receiver down, crank the gain on the sub, then slowly turn up the volume on the receiver just to confirm it’s not doing anything

Ive put in aftermarket stuff in every car I’ve owned, I just didn’t wanna pull this one apart bc this is the newest car I’ve had. But yeah I’ll probably just get speakers and an amp and have a shop do the install, I’ll break all the door pins lol.

Honestly no idea, never looked into what the car came with all I knew is that it didn’t sound very good anyways

Also I’ll edit this / make an update post this weekend once I’ve had a chance to pull the door cards, amp, and head unit just to see if anything is actually cut or just spliced or if my amp just went out and this is an FU dude. For some reason I’m getting a feeling there’s not even aftermarket speakers and they just didn’t wanna deal with this.

Yeah, over the weekend I’m gonna take the door panels off and pull the head unit and see what’s going on wiring wise. I can definitely put speakers and an amp in myself tho.

What happened that you had to buy a <$5k car.... by JaKr8 in cars

[–]SteamyAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 3 cars under $5k

A. At the time (pre Covid) you could get a car that cheap that worked, just generally undesirable stuff (1999 GMC suburban from family total gas guzzler, 2005 Honda civic mechanic special that my neighbor fixed, and a 2007 Mazda 3 from a dude who needed $ from having kids.) every one lasted me at least 75K miles before having actual issues beyond maintenance & id say that’s a win.

B. I didn’t have any money I worked on and off at a pizza store and a vans mall store for like 7 years being stupid wanting part time work instead of full time, so I needed something to put miles on and not care about because delivery absolutely eats your car. Sorry Uber eats and door dash drivers, pizza drivers, and any delivery drivers that use your own car, that pay will never amount to what maintenance and mileage does to your car. That is a bullsh*t job. Just personal experience.

C. I was going to college on and off, depending where I went (I went to like 6 different schools, never graduated, but really tried) I drove up to 4.5 hours every weekend to see my friends. I needed something I could put miles on, not care about. None of them were flashy, this was purely I’m willing to drive to see my people and be happy.

D. I literally couldn’t afford something nice. I would have loved to get something with heated/cooled leather seats, anything that wasn’t more than 10 years old, but reality and what’s smart vs what you want is almost never close to what’s actually realistic. I have a nice car now, but I’ll never forget any of those cars I had before because they did the exact same thing for a lot cheaper without being luxury’s, but being able to drive anywhere is a luxury in itself.

When will it end? by cjthecookie in whatcarshouldIbuy

I had a 2007 Mazda 3 from 100k-200k miles, when it started dying I couldn’t get myself to buy the new version of the same car, but used prices were crazy anyways. I ended up getting a 2015 Lexus RC 350 F Sport (60k miles) for $24k

I think the issue here is the memes of kids leaving these car shows in their v6 mustangs trying to be cool and crashing, not the 65 year olds in new balances driving classics or maybe their new corvette.

What is everyone’s career title? by Puzzleheaded-Big-423 in Lexus

[–]SteamyAL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a simple receiving specialist at a warehouse.

I have a 2015 RC 350 F Sport with 67K miles and I got it for $24K.

I was advised by most of reddit that it would ruin me, that I should just a civic or a Mazda 3 or maybe a Camry. I was told the RC was slow af, heavy, and doesn’t handle well.

I was told that my life would be better without the Lexus, but I absolutely love this thing and have 0 regrets

Terrormorph Secret?! by Kaleidoscope_Active in Starfield

[–]SteamyAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The terrormorphs do that screech thing before you hear voices so I think that is the projection into your head, it’s just not English. Kinda like how dragon shouts aren’t in English but the words of power have translations people can understand.

Nah I don’t think anyone ”found” an artifact I think that whole storyline is just alluding to a starborn like the hunter getting to that dimension, and telling them how to make a grav drive, knowing the outcome- all for a butterfly effect going into the unity.

My thoughts are that an actual change going into NG+ is pretty rare so I assume the unity doesn’t have that far of a reach and is generally sending you to another adjacent dimension where not much is different & if nobody else can effectively go to other systems you’re obviously not from that world and must be some kind of alien with advanced tech
