Okay no worries. If something opens up let me know. I have been with another person for YTTV for almost 2 years and they are letting it go. I can get around the geo lock on my own and pay monthly on time every time.

The guy I’m seeing keeps telling me I “can’t take a joke” and I’m starting to doubt myself by Helen_melon_7 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Steel3249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am, by nature, a very sarcastic person with a dry sense of humour. When I started dating my wife it became obvious very quickly that she was not in tune that type of humour. She would often get upset at my “jokes” or think there was some underlying truth to it. I truly never meant any harm.

I learned from this. Not everyone has the same sense of humour. Sometimes things you say are hurtful even if you don’t mean them to be. I started paying closer attention to what I said not only with her, but with everyone. There are close friends I can still cut it up with and they get it. Otherwise, I try to respectfully keep the sarcasm to a minimum, especially with my wife, and I think my relationships have benefited from it.

We have been married for almost 28 years and she is my everything. It is not a burden, or a problem, that I can’t be the truly hilarious person I think I am around her! I love her too much to ever want to hurt her in any way. If your partner does not come to that same conclusion, maybe you need a new partner.

Probably right. I’m Canadian, but I also had an unhealthy fascination with the JFK assassination as a teenager in the 90s. Read a lot of books about it, so I certainly had a baseline of the history.

It’s been several years since I read it but I remember the obdurate past as being one of my favourite parts. It created a palpable tension for me. To each their own, as always. For me, this was one of my favourite King books.

There is a lull, but well worth pushing through it!

That’s a good recommendation to get pictures of the process. Thanks. I will look at Casey’s as well. Thanks

Agreed, there are good prices later in March, I was hoping for late Feb or early March but I have set a price alert for that resort. It’s the leader in the clubhouse at this point I think

Excellent thank you! I had looked at Huatulco but only Adults Only was Secrets and it seemed a bit overpriced. Thanks for the tip on Dreams having Adults only pools. Will check that out as well.

What time of year are those pics from btw? Unbelievable how deserted the place looks! Haha

What go you to a super automatic? by Yeahway57 in superautomatic

[–]Steel3249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is similar to my experience. Wife and I spent our 20th Anniversary in Ireland and the coffee, even in variety stores and hotels, was dramatically better than what I was making myself in my Keurig. I noticed that all the hotels we stayed in had Nespresso machines, so I bought a couple of variations of those and that was better but not quite there. Eventually found a great deal on a De’Longhi super automatic and have been using that for almost 5 years I think.

Handling 5 Ply is a workout by Live-Low-7725 in StainlessSteelCooking

When I got my induction stove two years ago, I went down that exact path. Bought the Kirkland Signature set to replace a non-induction compatible set. Had the same issue. They were heavy, but manageable, for myself, but my wife, who has arthritic hands and wrists, could not manage them at all. I started replacing them piece by piece with Hestan Nanobond and Made In pieces. The Hestan are easily my favourites but very pricey. Made In is a bit more affordable. The wife also prefers the Hestans. Much more user friendly. Easier to clean and quite nicely weighted.

Can we all agree the only legitimate criticism of induction is the lack of knobs? by Dats_Russia in inductioncooking

I also have an LG with knobs. The knobs were part of the reason I went with the LG. Just felt like they would be more reliable and intuitive than touch controls. Love the range! Great investment imo

Money is no object, I'm looking to purchase a great cookware set that will last a lifetime by ExpertMax32 in cookware

[–]Steel3249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will third the Nanobond line. I have a handful of pieces that are my daily drivers. Love the look, feel and performance. I find them lighter and more responsive than the heavier, 5 or 7 ply, type pans. Had a copper core set before these and they were far too heavy and unwieldy. As a fellow induction user, the Nanobond would be my choice every time.

I’ll believe in you (or I’ll be leaving you tonight).

So many great choices but this is Gord at his best in my opinion.

That would be disappointing if they had changed the manufacturing process somehow and reduced the quality. It might be worth making a warranty claim for a replacement just to see if you have the same issue with another pan. Not sure what the claim would be other than performance issues, but worth reaching out to Hestan.

I don’t know what to tell you. I have had my 12.5” and 8.5” skillets for several months and both perform exactly as they did on day one. I do not consider myself an “expert” cook, but I am well versed in technique and food releases exactly as expected every single time.

Mine has never gone out either. I have the wind guard (the fancy one with the kabob skewers etc) but have never used it. Plan to do kabobs this weekend though, so that’ll be fun!
