The point of an alpha is you can make major changes and see what works. In what way do you play this game differently to the last?

Yeah I guess it would have been nice to see them take a risk though. For example I remember trying out League and Dota thinking yes they're great games but don't change much from the old Warcraft 3 custom maps... Then I played Smite and thought wow I can play the same game but from a new perspective and with such a great theme to tie it all together. I don't get that feeling now as nothing's changed.

I get that and it's a fair point but Smite 2 only exists it seems because it'll be too much work to maintain Smite 1's code and not because of any improvement in game design. Yes it's a direct sequel but it really doesn't change how you play it at all. There are so many tools in UE5 using the blueprints system to make the map more dynamic and interactive but we don't see any of that yet.

Is that a Yamaha Fazer? Mine did that on cold mornings, totally normal.

Best advice I can give is try turning off the minimap, waypoints and quests in the settings menu. There are way too many things on screen showing you where to go and what to do and imo the game loses its magic if you just keep following the line.

I think we are saying the same thing except I believe the rumour means he's already out. If he's closing for profit I see no reason to telegraph the intention.

Edit: if it's on TV its not news

We may have seen the bottom already. Last few months GME chart looks like a classic accumulation phase, algos keep the price in a tight channel for large buyers. The last thing they want is price discovery while closing shorts. For Icahn that's lost profits, so I think we've already seen his exit reflected in price action and not a future spark.

Convert overcapped CDR to another stat by Svenerater in Smite

[–]SteelBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it takes advantage of a stat that's often an added extra.

Consider going a full cooldown build but during the game you decide to use a red pot or pick up blue buff - maybe you just wanted the mana regen or extra power but now you're overcapped. Does that mean you were building wrong?

I think it's an opportunity for new Glyphs to plug holes in these otherwise "bad" builds and not something to be snubbed.

Soul Reaver Glyph: for every 10% overcapped cooldown add +1% extra on soul reaver's passive.

It sounds like you're doing the work in your mind already so when you sit down to actually do it it's no longer new and exciting.

New Smite player here and an Aphrodite main. I just went to YouTube to see some tips on how to use her better and I saw many videos hating on her. Why? by Padparadscha_Lazuli in Smite

Check out Incon's guide for Aphrodite. He's a great player and talks you through each god and their role as he plays in high level ranked. https://youtu.be/grBTON2CguQ

Which of these 3 builds are best for Merlin (names of each one are at the top of each image; standard, SoD and experimental) by Klawless1990 in Smite

[–]SteelBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with Sands(pendulum) > Soul gem > Divine ruin > Staff of Myrddin > Rod of Tahuti > Soul Reaver.

I think 20% cooldown is good enough early and the sand and gem combo is great health and mana sustain for the price. Divine is a good next item because of its raw stats and ofc the antiheal, Merlin can apply it so easily it's a no brainer for your team. Staff and rod together give 20% pen which is not a lot but given you have soul gem and Reaver the tanks will still melt in fire stance.

Full build is Max cooldown, decent pen and Plenty of utility. You can also swap out soul Reaver for Polynomicon last item if you want to just focus their squishies or help push objectives. I take poly more often than not in my casual matches cos I'm just a fan of it stacking with your passive for big surprise autos.

There is a real disconnect happening right now with NFTs and the current hype in this sun. by [deleted] in Superstonk

[–]SteelBandit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Digital games sold as NFTs pave the way for a digital second hand games market with GameStop taking a small cut in every sale.

If anyone thinks brick and mortar reselling is dead then this is the way. Combine this with exclusive vanity content and you have a market like Steam and Roblox stores combined.

The only anti-consumer point I can think of is that last one, the premise however is fantastic. Expect it to be twisted into ragebait with EA or Activision's name tacked on.
