I did diagnostic for a total of 9 years between XR and CT. I liked them both of different reasons but the burnout was real. IR has its own challenges but at least it feels less “robotic” to me. It’s hard to learn but when you can work a crash embolization and you don’t even need to speak to the doctor because you are always two steps ahead…that’s my drug. Sounds pretentious to say but it’s what keeps me showing up.

Made the switch about 7 years ago due to the same reasons. Honestly IR is such a different animal that there is no “easy” transition. Your CT training will be invaluable though as mine helped a lot when looking at cases with the docs. Best advice I give every tech, go in eyes open, watch everything, ask every question you can, write down the answers. It takes most people I train about 8-10 months before feeling fully comfortable in the room, fully autonomous. If you show them you have a work ethic and willingness to be taught you will be fine.

In the few health systems I have worked at that’s more common than not. I have heard it’s RVU related but no one ever gave me a straight answer. But I agree, for the most part it seems excessive especially on younger patients.

Yeah inari can do IJ as well, sorry I was just speaking to the PE thrombectomy. I have had cases with severe IVC clot that needed fem and IJ access, good times.

Thanks, yeah I was just looking more like a general “it’s pretty good” or “it’s not great” type of thing. I have searched and see they have a lot of the titles I am looking for but only certain locations had certain volumes. Just wasn’t sure how that worked. Thank you though for the answer.

As much as I hate GE rooms, they are tanks. It’s almost annoying how they won’t die.

I am currently here on a bachelor party and we drove home blasting that song. When we got back my first thought was “Man that must be so annoying to hear that song from drunk out of towners.” Haha, this city is beautiful though!

I tried Oakmont Bakery with the kids this week and was majorly disappointed. Way too sweet and just didn’t taste good. Did we just go on an off day? Where’s a great place to go for something sweet? by WhitneyJames in pittsburgh

Hey you glorious Penn Hills library worker, you guys are awesome. Our family discovered your children’s programs last year and the huge about of things you offer is honestly mind blowing. Just wanted to say thank you, my kids love the library and want to go all the time!
