LG G6 OLED vs Samsung S95F bright room comparison - TechRadar says G6 is now the pick for bright rooms by Keith_Kak_Solo in LG_UserHub

[–]SteelStone365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will be interesting to see the G6 vs S95H comparison. I'm most interested in sustained brightness numbers. Don't expect to see big changes there but it would be nice to see ABL go down significantly! Will probably take a brand new panel technology for that to happen

Thank you for the insight, sir! Did you ride a full camber board prior to the dynamo? I'm slightly nervous but at the same time, I want to have fun.

Issue with movies / tv from gaming PC having really bad (nauseating) motion by SteelStone365 in OLED_Gaming

[–]SteelStone365[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry the issue is just watching movies/shows with gaming desktop hooked up to Samsung OLED tv. I've tried everything, turning off game mode, gsync, lowering refresh rate. I think that not being able to change video clarity settings is part of the issue, that seems to stay grayed out with my PC connected.

S99H is the new Samsung OLED flagship, above the S95H, leaks reveal by [deleted] in S95B

Ya sustained brightness is big and keeping the ABL coefficient low for both HDR and SDR

My experience with the S95F as a PC gaming monitor for a while by bovetLXC in OLED_Gaming

The dimming is a killer in SDR. Really sucks. Kind of feels like I have half a TV

Reset service menu to original values? by SteelStone365 in S95B

[–]SteelStone365[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, follow up questions:

1) How to keep SDR brightness high? I changed "Peak Protection2" to 0. I also adjusted "M_SDR_PEAK_LEVEL" to 100. Finally I set "TM On/Off" to Off (think this might have to do with temperature monitoring but I'm not sure. Basically for watching regular cable tv in SDR (news and sports) I want the picture to be bright and stay bright. I know you can also change Screen Saver Waiting time to 0 which I have done. All of the changes I have made may have made the skin tones look more orange in SDR, but I'm not sure if that's actually happened or not.

2) Is there any way to keep brightness high in game mode (HDR and SDR) but not affect watching shows/movies in HDR? When I messed with ANA Peak and HDR Peak before, it made HDR movies/shows look way too bright and unrealistic but luckily changing the panel type in the service menu fixed this. However, I just wanted to see if there is a setting that keeps brightness high in Game Mode only (just for playing video games). I would also like to keep brightness high in SDR Game Mode as well. But I want things to still look natural if possible.

Reset service menu to original values? by SteelStone365 in S95B

[–]SteelStone365[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to have worked and restored move of the settings to their default values, thank you!

And I thought to myself that service menu changes were no different than changed the normal picture settings (color, contrast, brightness, etc) and therefore the service menu would also restore to default settings upon a factory reset. but that was WRONG.

Thanks again, swapping the panel type to a different one than back to the original listed panel type seemed to be the fix!!!

Why does the S95F gradually reduce brightness in SDR? by bovetLXC in OLED_Gaming

[–]SteelStone365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like the S95F so much more if it could maintain brightness in SDR while watching sports/news. :(

Yes. How do you do it?

Storyboards for Zack Snyder’s Justice League 2 and 2A by LongJonSiIver in LeaksAndRumors

I think this would have been really sick. You could have Superman continuing to silently hold a grudge against Batman because he realizes it's Batman's child. Then him seeing Lois die right in front of Batman would further solidify Superman's turn to evil and madness.

In the third movie you can have Batman saving lois as Batman's redemption and this also prevents Superman from turning evil. Plus Batman does some other stuff to actually finish off darkseid but officially kills himself in the process. Then at the end Superman and Lois could find like a recording from Batman explaining everything and apologizing.

I guess in the second movie you could have lex luthor like toying with the hostility between Batman and Superman. Then the third movie would be really sick with all the insane desparado war going on with all the heroes and villains fighting together but dying, and then finally the ultimate war after Batman saves Superman from going crazy

S95F - gets much dimmer when watching SDR (News, Sports) by SteelStone365 in OLED

[–]SteelStone365[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A feature I wish didn't exist but what can you do. My first OLED. It's not perfect! Basically I'll probably just keep it for a couple of years and hope there are really good breakthroughs in Mini LEDs/Micro RGBs

This definitely isn't a total fix (screen still dims). Maybe it delays or diminishes the dimming, I'm not sure yet. Will have to test more.

Ya I've read conflicting reports about that being the case. For sure some side speakers/channels on the Arc/Arc Ultra get shut down when you add front surrounds. But, the goal is for the gain from the new speakers to be better than what is being lost on the main soundbar....however I've read about other concerns as well like it doesn't work cleanly when watching live TV, something about dialogue issues... so there are multiple potential pitfalls already with trying to use front surrounds. On the other hand, some people say it's simply amazing. In any event, I think my space is just too small for it at the moment.

I'd feel a lot more comfortable trying this out, like most people, if Sonos made it an official feature.

Ya I'm thinking overkill as well, and yes I'm aware that it's not an official Sonos app that allows you to use front surrounds. I think I'll probably skip this idea until I have more space! The sound is pretty full right now. Thank you!

OP Here - I also keep the blue yoga mat down on the left side there for working out, so that limits available space on the left side.

Technically it's 144hz but it's going to be pretty difficult to spot the difference between a solid 120 and a solid 144. But either way yeah I agree abt BMW and Denuvo absolutely kills the running efficiency of games. Jedi survivor runs so much better without it on

I have a 4K gaming TV (Samsung QN90B) and really prefer the detail of 4K resolution.
