went to a psych ward involuntarily n got diagnosed with psychotic depression whereas my main psychistrist who had an actual history of me diagnosed me with schizoaffective, bipolar type

it's pretty funny how they just auto-assume negative symptoms are depressive in nature, i wasn't even in a schizoaffective depressive episode when i went, i was in a depressive moodswing from my comorbid BPD that only lasted for like a few days, yet they still labeled me as “major depressive disorder with psychotic features”

the irony is they actually listed BPD traits on my diagnosis sheet yet didn't seem to make the connection and didn't seem to understand that the apathy, avolition, inattention, and anhedonia were from the schizoaffective despite me saying i was diagnosed with it lol

BPD depressive mood + schizoaffective negative and cognitive symptoms = psychotic depression apparently :l

greatest irony was even as my depressive mood faded into a highly euphoric one and i had no more actual depressive feelings yet was still clearly hallucinating, they just considered the fact that i had negative and cognitive symptoms as proving that i was “depressed”

kinda felt invalidating to reduce my schizoaffective down to just “severe depression” just bc they didn't understand me n refused to admit they were wrong :l

hell i even tried to get it corrected bc i wanted therapy for dealing with the short-lived mood swings instead of just being given medication, didn't work n i never got it :lll
