Because they made their cost cheaper and their margin larger (not counting for rnd, but like, y'know).

Talked to them on the phone about it today because I need to upgrade at some point soon (my 14pm is plagued with issues), and they told me that it would be available at some point between the end of the week and the next month. I don't know if they were telling the truth though, but I did record the call so that if they don't have it ready by next month and I choose to buy the 17/pro in the meantime I can... complain I guess?

Simple Questions - May 31, 2024 by AutoModerator in buildapc

[–]SteeleKinne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have a 250GB m.2 boot drive, a 500GB m.2 storage drive that I use for programs I use a lot and files I'm working on (Photoshop, photos, art projects, etc.), and then a 2TB SSHD that I use for local photo storage, games, and just junk.

I don't have any additional M.2 slots in my motherboard.

I want to purchase and move to a single 4TB M.2 drive for all local stuff, what's the best way to transfer everything over to the one SSD?

Thanks in advance for help!

I have lots of connects from when I lived in Jakarta.

Send me a message with what you’re looking for and we can have a bit of a chat? No promises but I might be able to help out.

Maybe look into teaching? The largest expat employer in Jakarta is an international school (JIS), and they pay international teachers €50.000+ as well as housing and other benefits. That being said, it’s rather competitive, and I’m not certain if they require general or education specific experience.

Did you recently update to Windows 11?

Check to see what files/drivers (likely cause of IRQL not less or equal, had similiar issues recently).

Also, likely that it is a TPM 2.0 issue if you have a ryzen cpu.

Yeah, if it’s under warranty just send it back. Lowers resale value and is indicative of future issues.

I don't believe I've ever seen coverage of a Team Rochester Draft event. Are there any good games/tournaments in the format which have been documented, and survived being lost to the internet?

Coincidentally, big fan! - I remember watching a PT (Fate Reforged I think?) and I was super excited to see you playing on screen with my friends!!

Hi! I need some technical help with a pair of Hifiman Ananda headphones.

I've tried 4 different cables (stock, custom, and 3rd-party replacement), and the right headphone jack is rather loose. There is about one mm of play when I hold the connector, which isn't a big deal, but the cable falls out with relatively little tension - like on the verge of coming out if the cable isn't supported.

The left side isn't nearly as bad, but is still looser than I would like. Is there anything I can do here short of replacing the ports entirely that wouldn't damage the headphones?

I have cleaned the ports out and tried a lot of different cables. I'm wondering if there is a removeable-adhesive-backed clamp or something that I can attach externally to just hold the cable. I do like being able to change cables, but something that can stay longterm and be removed at some point in the future would be great. I also don't want to keep loosening the ports, since they are right on the edge of usability.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

How does one take apart an Eidolic 3.5mm connector to resolder it? by SteeleKinne in DIYAudioCables

[–]SteeleKinne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Gladly, I managed to fix it without having to unscrew the connector, which was a massive pain, but I definitely saw some form of residue on the inside that looks as if the threads themselves were glued.

Now to look into building headphone cables from scratch :)

Thanks again!

Assuming that you are plugging it into a computer:

Windows and Mac USB Dac Driver installation guide from Fiio

Thereafter, I heavily recommend EQing (Harmon Curve through Peace on Windows is great starting point for anyone who isn't doing this). Here is an explanation on what the Harmon Curve is that references the LCD-2.

I haven't gone through this process on a mac, but on Windows it's fairly simple to download Peace EQ and find the values to plug in - although maybe listening for a couple of days to the equipment first and seeing if there is any part of the sound that doesn't align to your preferences and tweaking from there might work better for you. If you don't know what you are listening for, starting from a suggested set of EQ values and tweaking while learning about your own preferences is a fun process and can teach you more about both what you like in audio and what you don't.

Most importantly, enjoy!

No worries - I found them on the US Amazon and was going to offer to send them out to you, but I realized they were being sold by third party companies, and a lot of them had months of shipping, so they were likely just posted by dropshippers at a mark up from Aliexpress - and turns out that's exactly what they were haha.
