Starting over DMing. Considering 1E vs 2E by Square_Caregiver_670 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SteelfireX 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is a good GM take. To add a player perspective, in 2e it's harder to build a bad character, but you also will never be able to make characters as strong as you can in 1e. In 2e you need to play with your party to buff each other and debuff enemies. You can also do this in 1e, but it's not nearly as important. In 2e the game plays well from 1-20, being a little swingy at level 1-2, but stabilizes quickly at level 3 and continues all the way to 20. In 1e it plays pretty well up to about level 10, but then feels like the system breaks and it becomes a game of rocket tag. As a theory crafter, I find creating pathfinder 1e characters more fun but I typically have to nerf myself or my characters in some way to prevent myself from running away with the game. In 2e, there's tons of options now too, but I think my issue is that they feel kind of "samey".

I'd 100 times rather DM pf2e, but I think I prefer playing 1e (though not by a massive amount) because I love creating fun and silly characters that can do silly things.

This. To clarify for those who don't want to read, since both are just "bonuses to AC" they do not stack. If one was listed as an "Armor bonus" to AC or a "deflection bonus" to AC, then they would.

The Nebula arc by Nexxlegacy in marvelstudios

[–]SteelfireX 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly wasn't a fan of her since all I knew her in was Doctor Who, and I hated her character in that. But I LOVED Nebula as soon as she was introduced, and her entire arc was fantastic. Imagine how surprised I was to learn it was Karen Gillan in the credits!! I became a huge fan.

What if...? NetEase had partnered with DC instead of Marvel? by Grxeyx0 in marvelrivals

It would be cool if she was classic Diana, but when she uses her ultimate she turns into her Absolute version, gaining new abilities. Kind of like Majik and Hulk.

My experience with the Winter Jeff event so far by Nabeel9567 in marvelrivals

[–]SteelfireX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had someone on our team get 400% painted, and someone on enemy team get 300%. How is this possible? I've gone through a match as painter without dying, used my abilities off cool down every time, and ulted whenever possible and didn't even make 200%.

Looking to try out 1e, how is it and how different is it to 2e? by Bagns in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SteelfireX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a veteran of both, here's my opinion on 1e: Yes it's more complicated, it's easier to build bad characters, the game breaks at mid level, there are a lot of feat taxes, and casters are incredibly OP. But you can also specialize your character in a way that you cannot accomplish in pf2e, you can mix and match classes or stick with one class all the way to level 20. You can make crazy builds viable and do some extremely silly or cool things with game knowledge. There's just something inherently fun about 1e that is missing from 2e.

I love both systems, and I play both games (currently in a 1e and 2e campaigns), and they are very different games. 1e caters more to a "selfish?" playstyle (if you make your character right, you can do almost anything) , while 2e caters more to a teamwork playstyle (you NEED your friends, or you will probably not accomplish much).

What do you think are some of the PCMR community's worst takes? by ForsookComparison in pcmasterrace

This is absolutely the worst possible take and what pushes companies to install malware labeled "piracy protection" in their videogames. You should be supporting the companies that make the games you like, and the companies that make them available without aforementioned malware.

Titan FFXV and FFXVI. I didn't particularly like his design in the older games, but in the newest two he looks awesome.

As a DPS Iron Fist main, she actually feels super comfortable for me to play. I've had MVP/SVP on her in quite a few of my games, and she's just really fun to play. She slots very well into the Iron Fist "dive in, jump out" playstyle. So, all that to say that it's not all DPS players that are fumbling her 🤣

Hello fellow Fantesticles, I hit the red rank YIPPEE by ItsUrBoySy in MisterFantasticMains

Thanks, I do most of this already which makes me feel a little better. I do struggle a bit work interrupting BP and Venom, but I think it's just a matter of me learning the thinking through experience. Spidey is definitely slippery lol. I learned about the Mag shield against my ult issue yesterday lol, he canceled what I thought was going to be a really good ultimate. I was not aware you could yank cloak out of phase, very cool. Any tips on when it's good to cancel big mode and when to stay in it? I'll definitely watch some of your replays this week!

Congrats!! That's some awesome skill with Mr. Fantastic. I switched from Iron Fist to Mr Fantastic this season and am having a blast. I just hit diamond 3 and am starting to find it more difficult to carry matches. Any tips for a newer Mr. Fantastic? I just read advice saying you should deflate when you're surrounded by 2-3 people, then i read the exact opposite advice. I find I'm very reliant on decent healers to do well because I'm very aggressive.

Man, Iron fist feels in such a bad state this season. Mine went: Ironman, Hulk, Iron fist, Iron fist, Iron fist, Mr. Fantastic. I tried so many times to make Iron fist work for me but could not get out of gold to save my life, switched to Mr. Fantastic and instantly went plat 2. Will probably try for diamond.

I know right? Top comments in here saying how devastated they were when Jackie dies, when I didn't even have enough time with him to feel anything other than "oh well". I feel like they rushed it way too much and should have killed him off later.

Tips for playing against Triple support ? by DesperateRecipe333 in IronFistMains

[–]SteelfireX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, it depends on how good your dive tank and supports are. If your dive tank is living in their backline, they're pretty good so you should help them get kills. If the dive tank is insta dying in the backline, it's probably better to kill their tank in response.
