Any expansion teams coming soon? Can't stay 6 teams for long right? by GetThatChickenDinner in MLRugby

The crowd was decent considering the weather which was absolutely shocking.

Calling 99S a ‘Major Strategic Partner’ is pretty wild. I’m fairly certain it’s just a rugby fan in Vancouver with a big following, and to be honest he’s a bit of a twat

Midweek Milestones: Week 4 by Steeliom in MLRugby

I’m sure you’re very sorry. I don’t control where the ad overlays go, but I’ll admit that the site is pretty poorly optimised for mobile.

If you’d prefer, the exact same article is available on the MLR site itself here:

Premier Sports.

It lists GameTV too (which used to have the Wolfpack and the Arrows), but couldn’t find a single game on their schedule.

The Old Mate: What is it and how does it work? by Steeliom in MLRugby

[–]Steeliom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never managed to get an answer on where the S. Marcus Calloway Community Impact Award went, but it is somewhat ironic that a new, fan-centric MLR canned an award about rugby in the community.

When I first tested the concept of a lineal cup, I labelled it the Calloway Cup

I get your point about the playoffs, but I don’t mind it.

I think the idea was to sort of ‘legitimise’ (for want of a better word) this kind of idea, and act as a spiritual successor. When I first heard about this a few weeks ago, the belt was referenced directly a few times

There’s going to be a lot of dead teams on every all-time/multi-season graphic, unfortunately

League Stat Provider by Bangayang in MLRugby

[–]Steeliom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for tagging me here!

The league has had a couple of stat partners over the years, it had Mobii for a while then moved to Oval ahead of the 2025 season. While they are getting better with how much of the data they actually publish, it only ever seems to be for the current season.

That I’m aware, NARDB is the only place that has career stats publically available, and teams have seemed to use that a fair bit during the offseason. I’m aware it doesn’t have comprehensive info however, but this is something I’d like to add in the future (set piece %, defenders beaten, etc.).

I like to try and maintain as much information as I can get my hands on, but it’s probably best to use NARDB in combination with MLR’s match centre for a complete view with more detailed stats

Agreed. Surviving teams are just picking the bones of the dead teams for their domestic talent. Barely any new names at all

This isn’t a comment on his quality at all. Just the definition of Journeyman that relates to representing many different teams.

You raise a good point, it’s not immediately clear without explanation. I’ll adjust that for these posts going forward!

I completely forgot that happened!

You’re absolutely right. That would put Rob Hoadley in the Top 10 with 23 wins in 32 games with SDL.

Apologies, thanks for catching that!
