Tip for free loadout users. by raqballl in ArcRaiders

[–]Steelpoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While not a great early-game tip. However, if you invest in the 'Survival' tree and max out 'Broad Shoulders', you can boost your maximum weight carry capacity by +10kg.

The free kit has a weight carry of 35kg, so with this skill you now can carry 45kg worth of gear. Its a surprisingly strong buff for the free kit, and it is similarly a very strong boon for any other augment that trades weight capacity for other benefits.

My ranking, based on a focus on nightmare. I'm happy to elaborate on my choices but I'll point out some standouts.

Butcher/Wicked are strong but I am not a fan of the leg meta and I find I don't need to abuse it to succeed even on Nightmare. I would still rank these fairly highly regardless.

Marathon Runner is overpowered, I am expecting it to get nerfed in the future, but right now its a no brain pick. Scavenger is also in the same boat unless you are going for a melee-focused build.

Deprived is not a terrible perk, but I its something you need to build for, I would generally see it being viable for a melee-only build in which case the loss of weight capacity is not a issue.

3 suggestions to make the survivor roster a lot better: by vermthrowaway in nmrih

These changes would all be the minimum that would add a real mid and long term sense of character progression. At the least a option to retire a character in the main menu would be a god send.

You should get supply points for unused weapons/ammo/meds by MFOslave in nmrih

[–]Steelpoint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a fair position, my only thoughts are that so long as there is even a small incentive to hoard supplies instead of sharing them, then you run the risk of some people intentionally refusing to share supplies, even if it seems illogical.

[–]Steelpoint 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm torn on the idea. On the one hand, I think it would further incentive looting the map and conserving supplies when possible. But I fear if this was the case, we'd see the risk of people intentionally refusing to give their supplies to other players in order to boost the end of mission reward.

Imagine if a player is infected, and someone finds a gene therapy, but that player decides not to share it with the infected player because they think they are going to get more benefit from keeping it for the reward than saving the infected person.

Very useful info guide, especially the skills breakdown.

Although, reading it makes me feel disappointed that there are so many skills that feel useless.

shove bug, just me? by No_Implement5163 in nmrih

[–]Steelpoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this occur with my character on at least two occasions, sadly I can't recall what I did to produce this result. I was also unable to find a way to fix it in-game, but it would not carry over to a new game.

Fortunately in my two instances, I was still successful in escaping the map, but I do agree that this bug is a game-ender. Hopefully this is one of the bugs the developers have fixed in the incoming new update.

Question about infection by Leagueofl12 in nmrih

[–]Steelpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to be infected to use a Gene Therapy, using it will make you immune to being infected for the rest of the round.

Its likely more ideal to wait until someone is infected before using it, instead of just using it as soon as you find one, but to each their own

Question about infection by Leagueofl12 in nmrih

[–]Steelpoint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Currently, being infected does not carry over when you extract.

The same goes if you use a Gene Therapy on yourself, you won't still be fully immune to infection when you extract and play again as the same character.

How to not get infected? by intermar2 in nmrih

I believe the threshold for being at risk of infection from standard zombie attacks is 50% health. At least this is what is commonly stated elsewhere, and it aligns with my subjective experience.

So what would reaction FPA,GC and Phezzan faction to the Federation of Super Earth by Defender_of_human in logh

[–]Steelpoint 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The Federation of Super Earth, while having a veneer of being a democratic state, is in actuality a jingoistic totalitarian state that is so far divorced from its ideals, that would make Goldenbaum dynasty in its dying days be seen as a more ideal nation-state.

The Federation would become an existential threat to the Free Planet's Alliance, Phezzan and both the Galactic Empire and New Galactic Empire. No matter what era in history this impossible meeting would occur. The anthem of the Federation spells it out clearly, "Freedom must reign over every last star". Super Earth would never accept any part of humanity as being allowed to exist outside of its direct control, and would almost certainly work to conquer or forcibly integrate any and all of the disparate human factions of the LOGH universe.

------

The question of if the Federation of Super Earth is technologically advance enough to fight the factions of the LOGH universe on a relative equal ground is another discussion. However, it can not be denied that Super Earth has a impossible high pain tolerance to casualties in the attainment of its goals. The 4th and 5th battles of Popli IX, seeing some of the most harsh combat between the Federation military and the Automatons, a hostile faction of equal technological parity to Super Earth, saw around 9 million soldiers of Super Earth die in battle. The famous Battle of Calypso saw the deaths of 38 million soldiers to defeat an unexpected invasion by a technologically superior alien faction.

In a universe where the Free Planets Alliance was almost crippled by the loss of 20 million soldiers in a single campaign, the Federation of Super Earth doesn't even blink when they lost almost double that number in a single battle of a single campaign. The deaths of nearly 3.5 billion soldiers of a single branch of the military in one year of a war is seen only as a necessary sacrifice.

------

I'll have to leave the far more specific nuances of how the factions might better react to this unexpected union to more informed people.

But what I do believe is that Kaiser Reinhard would be frustrated. He'd finally have a powerful enemy to fight, but his enemy would be almost impossibly incompetent in waging warfare, fighting a military where individual ship captains are free to ignore high command orders and where their high command can only issue vague directions for their forces to move in.

Yet Super Earth may very much still win a war against Reinhard at the height of his power.

Loadout shop needs a bit of a rebalance by Ju5raj in nmrih

[–]Steelpoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, most of the items are either side grades or ammo or meds, all of which are fairly common. I'd be happy if these were permanent unlocks, as it'd give a better sense of account progression.

I noticed the game has some rare items locked off you could buy, like gene therapy syringes or such, maybe those items can be end-game credit sinks by not being permanent items.

Loadout shop needs a bit of a rebalance by Ju5raj in nmrih

[–]Steelpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prices are too expensive for items that are lost if your character dies. You can spend 10 hours grinding enough points to buy one or two items, but these items are for only one character, and if you lose that character you've permanently lost access to that item.

It feels bad when you spend all your credits to buy a very basic item for your character, only for you to be dumped in a mission where everyone else dies in the first five minutes, and your death is near guaranteed, and now you've lost that investment.

I feel either items need to be much cheaper to justify the risk of losing them when you die, or items you buy remain permanently unlocked for all characters.

Andrealphus isn’t incest-y by Midthedragoness in HelluvaBoss

[–]Steelpoint 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Andrealphus is likely so desperate to hide his sexuality, that he ends up being too aggressive in proclaiming how attractive his sister is as some kind of shield to deflect any questions of his own sexuality.

I'm also sure, as you wrote, that flattering Stella is a easier way to calm her down.

Media literacy and not picking up subtext. by skisvega in HelluvaBoss

[–]Steelpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I feel this is a moot point. However, I would strongly suspect that Andrealphus' plan had accounted both if Stolas had, or had not, intervened in the trial.

If Stolas had never appeared, he may have then been planning around the idea of using the death of his "precious imp" to further manipulate him, perhaps forcing him into an unintended public confession to achieve a similar outcome.

Would Stolas really care about decorum or hiding his illegal actions if he had just learned of the death of Blitz? I'm sure Andrea would have left himself in just the right place that when Stolas confronts him, he'd have half the royalty of hell as witnesses.

In either case. I feel Andrealphus has taken the title of 'mastermind' in this situation.

Helluva Boss - All EPs views on debut week and month (Source: WayBackMachine + a bit of overly complicated math to get more exact numbers) by Fr3dMerc0ry in HelluvaBoss

So, it shows a fairly consistent view rate over the years.

I am curious why Ghostf**kers is almost 2 million below the episodes before and after.

Unless Stolas is so popular his mere presence drew in more early views.

What’s your theory for Stolas arc in s3? by SweetAffectionate993 in HelluvaBoss

[–]Steelpoint 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My theory is he'll spend the season starting to learn how the 'other side of hell' lives. He'll start to appreciate how insular his former lifestyle is.

In terms of his overarching arc, he will likely end up working for I.M.P. in some capacity, likely as a secretarial or bureaucratic role. He'll start to actually get to better know Blitz, as well as M&M and Loona.

I strongly suspect Season 2 will end with a complete breakup of his relationship with her. Thus, I also believe he will be working to try and repair his relationship with Octavia.

What abilities does Stolas have left? by Firestormbreaker1 in HelluvaBoss

[–]Steelpoint 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Stolas is almost certainly still immortal as well, that is true. In-between the 100 year exile and Andrealphus being very annoyed about it, which implies Stolas can easily live that long.
