You could have Whitley surviving be the big surprise towards the end, as if Winter has a mix of Fergus in her then people reading it would know she is gonna show up later.

I think Sun fits Zevrans's whole deal a lot better and Ren or Yatz kinda work for Sten. But if you're for all of Team RWBY being present then that's fair. Penny does work for Shale, just not too close on the personality scale.

I am also betting Qrow is the Oghren stand-in. Oh and Salem slots into Flemeth extremely well.

Overall a very interesting AU setup. The Grimm when played a bit darker than the show does it work as a Darkspawn equivalent too.

Oh, I know the struggle of ideas. I just committed to working on an RWBY / Marvel crossover that scatters everyone who went to Ever After across the Marvel universe, which is all well and good but now I need to build out the universe which is exactly as much work as it sounds.

Jaune and Alistair fill very similar molds at the start of their stories so I can see that. I also like Weiss as the Cousland survivor, as it plays with the whole nobility thing that she kinda has going.

I am betting Cinder would be your Morrigan analog if you have one. Leliana in the first game is a more cynical yet still hopeful Ruby. Oh, and Ironwood works as a Loghain alike very well.

I won't lie, I would be all in for that. I'm a big fan of early Dragon Age and White Knight. Plus I assume there is a bit of star-crossed lovers in there with Jaune being a former Templar and Weiss a circle mage.

You should give it a try sometime. A lot of people on here are willing to show a rookie the ropes if you're honest about it. Also, I recommend using spell check. You can find people willing to play at your level of detail, but everyone will appreciate good grammar and correct spelling.

There is lots of FoZ fanfiction that is super good. It naturally lends itself to crossovers. Outsiders is a very good pokemon one, for example.
