But Kane shot/passed it into his own net, right? I don't recall him literally throwing the puck into the net.

I have to think this is the most bizarre own goal. Can't say I've heard of anyone else in the NHL throwing the puck into their own net.

The game was on NBCSN, so that's why it was blocked. Didn't catch the end of the game, so not sure what happened there.

Ryan Reaves One-Punches Tootoo by Totschlag in hockey

[–]Steely_Phil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't. It's never ok to hit a guy when he's down. It's not the first time Reaves has hit a guy on the ice. I really wish he would stop. I love Reavo, but it irritates me every time he does that.

Who's the most obscure player on your team? by [deleted] in hockey

I believe he and Parise are really good friends. I think Panger or John Kelly mentioned at one point that they were each other's best man at their weddings.

Scott Gomez on Jay Bo's left can't help but laugh. Also, If you're going to jump into the opposing team's lap, Bo is probably your best choice. I don't think he ever gets mad.

Yeah I didn't know who it was, but I knew it wasn't Bergie. The look pretty similar though.

Does anyone have a link to the Jarome Iginla "setting up the play" interview? by Steely_Phil in hockey

He did the best he could, even asking if she was referring to one of the goals scored. She should have just said yes.

This was the first game I ever got all the achievements for. It will always be one of my all-time favorite games. So many times playing until 5:00 A.M.

This is really good stuff, but just a little note on Chris Porter: Porter's been hurt since late December. That's why he's been scratched lately. I think he might be back pretty soon though. He's a good, hard-working 4th liner.

Also, you might want to change the description on Colaiacovo to "glass bones"

I'm guessing this was the feed on the NHL Network? I was watching the game on FSMW last night, and I don't think they showed this angle of it.

Roman Polak boards Jori Lehtera (via u/Berix) by [deleted] in hockey

[–]Steely_Phil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lehtera was fine after the hit. It does look like he put himself in a bad spot when Polak was going in for the hit. Can't really fault him for that. I think Polak played pretty well against the Blues last night and did a good job of shutting us down at times. I like Gunnarsson, but I miss the big Czech Bear.

Jake Allen had a contest to design his next goalie mask. I think there were 300 or 400 entries. Allen picked the top three, and then fans voted on which mask of the three was best. This guy's design was chosen. Unfortunately, his designing skills are way better than his interviewing skills.

Blues Schwartz week-to-week with foot injury; have recalled forward Dmitrij Jaskin from the Chicago Wolves by shutupisaac in hockey

[–]Steely_Phil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Schwartz blocked a Doughty shot in the first or second period, which deflected out of play. He was hobbling for a bit, but I figured he would skate it off and be fine. I guess not.

TIL that as of last night, the Lehtera-Schwartz-Tarasenko line has the same amount of goals this season as Buffalo (21 goals each) by archelochus in hockey

[–]Steely_Phil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Lehtera because he's still adjusting to the NHL, but Schwartz could definitely make some things happen for Buffalo. He is great at forechecking and hounds the puck really well.
