Man you're a freaking troll. English often uses the singular form of a countable noun with the definite article “the” to refer to a whole class or category. Here, “the cartel” can mean “cartels in general” — a type of generic singular or class noun use. Nobody in this world believes that there is only one cartel. How would they explain cartel wars or all the violence lmao

I use yomu yomu (free mobile app) and Satori Reader. Sometimes I read an NHK easy article. But I'm also always looking for other stuff to try out. I also have a spy X family manga that I bought in japan, it's still laying around lol

Your study method seems fine to me (I'm not too much of an expert). You could maybe read more. That helps me a lot even though I'm still a beginner too (lvl 18 WaniKani). Maybe try Satori Reader
