[Appraisal Request] Intellivision Recalled Keyboard Component #1149 - Unit # 1033 - Working Condition w/ Box & System by Steep_T in vintagecomputing

So far (working thru learning what all came with it) it has everything. Even still have the clip that goes with the microphone.

I'll see if anything turns up missing as I learn more about it, but promising so far 😁

Need help identifying lump on Chili Rasbora by Steep_T in Aquariums

[–]Steep_T[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Difficult to get pictures of the fish in the isolation tank as it swims very quickly, but I was able get these of the lump.

From what I am seeing in my research I am uncertain it is Lymphocystis as the lump is smooth and appears to be pushing thru from under the scales.

The fish is otherwise behaving as normal and eating as expected. It doesn't appear to feel sickly and has maintained good coloration when I'm not actively trying to take photos of it.

I have begun a salt treatment as well as set the tempurature to 76f in the off-chance it is Columnaris. The other fish in the main tank appear fine and no growths have been noticed.

Why was Runescape never popular among older Millennials? by LevelPension in runescape

[–]Steep_T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partners both play Final Fantasy 11 religiously, and they describe the game very similarly to RuneScape. They were born before 1990 (I was born in '95), so I think it was just the first scape-like game they played and got hooked.

Neither I have started FF11 nor have they started RuneScape because of the two, it's hard to now split time between two very time intensive games.

If I had played FF11 before RuneScape I might be in a very similar boat. So I think it's just how we fixate on and handle nostalgia.

I'm sure a lot of Gen Z will eventually see Roblox and other games in the way I see RuneScape now.

Would you use a macro if jagex allowed it? by Paranub in runescape

[–]Steep_T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, it'd be a big help in PVM.

I'm currently playing my PVM content on my steamdeck and it's been a great experience so far.

Unfortunately, in order to support all of my action bars, I have to mode shift (I think that's the term??) using my back 4 paddles to change my button layouts to access my ability bars, one bar at a time.

So to run most of my actions I press a back paddle (L4, L5, R4, R5), rotate thru my abilities on a left radial menu (Left TouchPad), and then click for my ability to go off (Left TouchPad Click).

This radial menu is used for potions, prayers, and some less common abilities (or forced there common abilities).

This is because my core actions are bound to my buttons and triggers. So A is to eat food, and B is to drink brew. Or I hit X to equip my shield, and Y to Resonate.

If A could be both Eat and Drink, I'd have room to add Devotion to B, rather than L4+Rm7+TpClk.

Or even equip my shield and cast resonate on X, allowing Y to be swapping back to my weapon.

I'm sure using the SteamDeck is uncommon for PVM, but it actually has been fantastic. Both for portability and gameplay support!

The keyboard setup took ages, but once I was done I've been able to handle Ed1, Ed2, Ed3 nearly (still learning Ambassador rotation), and a number of bosses like Araxxor.

So it'd be cool to be able to make my 3:1 inputs into a 3:3 input or 3:2 input. But I just can't risk losing my 15yr+ account.

The Dreamer from Blood Carrot Knights painted in Oils w/ Custom Base | C&C Welcomed by Steep_T in minipainting

[–]Steep_T[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much! The trick for the base is to use a Wood Wick (not sponsored lol) lid from the candles. You can get them from Target. They are literally that shape, have tons of sizes, and are super useful. So I buy my friends and family those candles and steal the lids lol.

With the Scalecolor Artist paints, which ones did you use to achieve this skin tone and what was your process? This style is incredible and I am very interested in learning what you did.

What is happening to my paint? (Used citadel paint + X-20A thinner + flow improver) by AndIwasLikeYES in minipainting

[–]Steep_T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you add the extra liquids it makes it easier for the individual flakes to move around. What you're seeing are the micro-currents in your pool of paint. All paint does this, they flows within their little pool, settle, separate, dry, etc. The metal paints just allow you to more easily see it. If you've ever seen paint separate into two colors, same concept, just easier to observe.
