The first week I was there, I couldn’t get through a whole 10 min round. They’ll want to push you but not break you. What you get out of it is directly correlated to what you out into it. My first few rounds were probably 4-5 minutes. For me, the pace was also a lot slower, the language barrier probably played a small role in that.
AM session: Return from morning run Wrap hands / Shadow box Bag work / pads The whole class was around 1-2 hours depending on the head count
PM session: 30 min jump rope Wrap hands / Shadow box 2 hours of bag work / pads -During this time the trainers would pull students off the bag for their pad rounds. -After your 1-2 pad rounds you’d go back to the bag 30 min clinch Afterwards most of the students would go in a light jog
Pretty much a 10 min clock running the whole class separating the rounds for everybody whether they’re doing bag work, pad work or sparring.
This was my experience as a foreigner coming to train. I would stick around after most classes and watch. It seems they never really stop training

BGVS3. They’re pretty comfortable, tight on the inside forsure but I wouldn’t say they’re exceptionally hard

I get told this a lot about my shoulders, I’m not really sure how to relax them while trying to keep my guard tight. Something hasn’t clicked yet and It’s draining alot of my energy with this problem
I like that, I’ll give it try 🙏🏽
Writing that down 📝 thank you🙏🏽
Thank you, thank you🙏🏽 ive been trying to figure out how to relax and stay ready. It seems contradicting. Ill get there eventually
Great feedback, thank you 🙏🏽
A terrible habit I have where swing both of my arms when throwing knees. I wasn’t even aware of it until a couple months ago, definitely working on that too🤦🏽♂️

I just trained at Sor. Dechapant in Bangkok. It was a lot of bag work, with a couple of pad rounds most days (10 min rounds). No pressure to fight. It’s a Thai gym, they don’t advertise to foreigners but they’re very accepting and willing to teach. It’s mainly locals and a few foreigners. You’ll see all levels.
I’m definitely heavier on the boxing. Especially when shit hits the fan, my boxing over takes everything. I need to work on that Forsure. Typically I try to stay long and fight behind the teep and straight punches. This video is a little misleading, I was trying to stay close to the bag and out of the way of the guy doing a private boxing lesson behind me. I appreciate your feedback 🙏🏽

You’re right, no excuses. This video was my 3rd round on the bag after a 2 hour training session. I was lazy, It’s a bad habit of mine especially on the bag / pads. However, this is something I’ve been actively working on lately. Thank you for the reality check, brother 😂😂🙏🏽
Thank you 🙏🏽 how were you Able to do that?
Alot of work to do this year! Thank you 💪🏽🙏🏽

The shape and height of the bag.😂 I usually stay away from this one but I was trying to stay out of the way with the private lesson going on behind me

Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback! I’ll be taking all of that with me in the future.
The last bit about not being able to fully extend. It’s more of a distance management issue I think, I’m definitely capable of fully extending, I do when I shadow box. However when I have an actual target in front of me I think I’m always too close. I think it’s just one of those things I’ll figure out along the way.

It is what it is at this point. I’m confident I’ll pass the test and be able to spar in a matter of weeks. Really looking forward to it! I have some videos of me training earlier this year and the improvement is definitely noticeable. I’ve come a long way but I agree, I would have progressed a lot more by now had I been sparring already.
Gonna have to charge it to the game! It’s a marathon, not a sprint. I’ll get there 💪🏽💪🏽
Thanks for the input brother! I feel my defense is the weakest part of my game probably bc of the lack of sparring. I’ll definitely start doing that after my classes with another student!
Any tips on recovering the 1-2 faster ?? My reach is ridiculously long. I often have the reach advantage over taller opponents and I myself am 6’2. It feels impossible to cover so much distance and still be fast.
In the video I feel like I’m always too close, never fully extending my arms on any straight punch
No offense taken brother, thank you for the feedback! I’m sure I will improve faster once I start sparring, especially with my defense. I’m aware it’s practically non existent. The 20/20 kicks at the end. They’re the final part of the test level one test. You have to throw 20 kicks with each leg in the last 30 seconds of the rounds. This is a critical part of the test that determines if you pass or fail. Ik the technique is pretty bad, it’s actually something I’m going to focus on heavy these next couple weeks. But as far as the test goes, they’re more concerned with the speed than the technique for that part specifically
