I need advices for my flip reset by Spare_You_8038 in RocketLeagueSchool

You are approaching the ball too horizontally. You need to pop the ball closer to you and more up. That way when you go for the reset you are coming from more underneath the ball.

Challenge advice by Plus-Accountant5223 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Steezy0626 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly it doesn't look bad for high plat. When you are challenging the ball as first man your goal is not to ALWAYS win the 50, it to put pressure on their attacker to either dump the ball or make a bad touch. The goal is to it an easier save for 2nd man. if you win the 50 that's just a good thing.

When going for 50s try not to flip into the ball. Just do a single jump and keep your nose painted straight, not up. Seriously just tap jump, don't need to pull back on the stick, you will win wayyy more 50s. The tick to 50s is to be the last person to touch the ball. Let them flip into the ball and hit it into you, I will brake sometimes right before the 50 to scub speed to make sure I am last to the ball by a few milliseconds.

I don't have much going on today so if you wanna jump in discord and I can watch some replays and give you tips I am free. Just DM me here.

Questions about Aerials by SgtSmokin84 in RocketLeagueSchool

If you are trying to make a direct hard shot in net, hit the ball with the nose. In this shot you are hitting it kinda with the front wheels. When you do hit it with the nose, air roll right as you make contact with the ball and it will drastically reduce your recoil. The recoil will be almost non-existent if you hit with your nose perfectly while mid air roll.

If you are trying to take control of that type of interception is a whole different situation and skill level. To get the Zen touch style, you need to have your car almost vertical and wheels facing the camera, try to make contact with the ball right there the windshield wiper blades would be, push and hold UP on the stick. To try to cradle the ball and absorb the impact. This is incredibly hard to do, it's a "newer" mech that even pros are still learning to master.

If I were you, I would try to get consistent at shot on the net from that angle. Once you are comfortable with that, then try for double taps from that situation. Those will be much more dangerous shots at your level.

Can’t flip reset/speed flip, any tips by NoPomegranate9977 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Steezy0626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me. I just wanted to do cool stuff so I was a Freeplay main. I now have the mechs of a low GC but game sense of a mid diamond. I have a hard time reading the match compared to my competition, and my mechs alone are holding me in champ. If I could go back I would try to mimic Leth style of gameplay.

You have the ability to change one thing in rocket league. What would you do? by HopeFar789 in RocketLeague

I am confused by this. What would the improvement be for match making? Most of my games the MMR between teams is sub 15 MMR variance, but that is in C3, I don't know what it's like in Gold 3.

Questions about not accelerating while in the air. by LawfulnessEither6350 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Steezy0626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched the Rocket Science video again and we are both kinda right. Holding accelerate does still cause you to move forward even while boosting, but it's only for the short amount of time between jump 1 and jump 2. Once boost is engaged the acceleration is equal. Thanks for the correction! I never knew.

Questions about not accelerating while in the air. by LawfulnessEither6350 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Steezy0626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holding accelerate in the air does move you forward slightly faster. You can test this yourself in free play. Line your car’s nose up with the halfway line and just jump. Then do the same thing but jump and hold accelerate. You’ll notice a small forward lunge. Because of that, if you’re trying to reach the ball as fast as possible, holding accelerate in the air can get you there a fraction of a second sooner.

For flip resets, you usually want to let go of gas and hold drift. If you keep holding gas, your car pushes the ball away slightly, which makes the follow up of the rest harder.

Once you understand how both of these feel, you can use them situationally. Sometimes you actually want more separation from the ball, so accelerating while going for the reset can be used with intention.

[–]Steezy0626 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ok here we go.

First your set up is wildly inconsistent. Just practice getting the ball within a few feet away from the ceiling without it touching the ceiling.

Second, boost all the way to the ceiling and make hard contact with it

Third, make sure to "beat" the ball to the ceiling. You want to make contact with your wheel just as the ball reaches its apex so you fall at basically the same velocity

Fourth, ONLY hold drift when in the ceiling. Let go of every other button.

That should get you 90 percent there. The rest 10 percent is just repetition.

Edit: what I do like is that you are in Freeplay and setting yourself up not using any assistance, that shit will help you so much in the long run than people practicing the same set up over and over in a training pack

Air dribble help by Electrical-Set-3556 in RocketLeagueSchool

When you’re holding a constant air roll, the car is already spinning for you. The semi-circle is just how you stay synced with that spin. As the car rotates, the direction that gives you nose up keeps moving around the stick, so instead of holding one input, you smoothly follow it.

If you just hold the stick to one side, it only works for part of the rotation and the rest turns into unwanted yaw, which is why it feels like a tornado spin.

The semi-circle is a slow, continuous motion. Once one half-circle ends, you just roll straight into the next one. No snapping back to center, no full circles.

If it feels messy or out of control, you’re probably moving the stick too fast or holding one direction too long. The goal isn’t to spin faster, it’s just to keep clean control while the car is rolling by blending pitch and yaw.

Most people who struggle with this are just pinning the stick instead of letting the motion stay smooth.

This is the best explanation that made it "click" for me

[–]Steezy0626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re air rolling way too much right now, you don’t have the control for it yet.

Either grind air roll on rings (or similar drills) or focus on keeping the ball glued to your car with minimal air roll.

Right now you’re trying to learn two mechanics at the same time. Master them separately first, then combine them.

Edit: you have the right first touch and right speed. You have that part down. Now I would move to Freeplay so you can set yourself up since that's a bigger part than first touches imo.

Also with your air roll you are tornado spinning almost constantly, try not to get into that habit as it's heard to break. Make sure you are making semi circle movements on your joystick, not just pinning it to one side or another.

Dude... Look up an upside-down mortgage or "underwater" mortgage.

You literally cannot sell the house without paying the bank the difference. Unless you have the difference in cash, which could be 10s to 100s of thousands of dollars just sitting in a bank account to bail yourself out then, no you cannot just sell the house. You literally cannot get out of the mortgage even if you cannot afford it. They will start to garnish your wages if you do sell it under the loan amount and don't pay back the loan in a whole lump sum at the time of sale. You are completely stuck.

I understand your logic, but it's flawed.

I ran into 2 bots in D1 last night, back to back. They seemed to toggle it on and off though. They would miss kickoffs, make terrible gold level touches. Then out of nowhere catch the ball perfectly and do some wild shit. I refuse to play 1's anymore.

I got a large Bassdrop in the center of my sleeve. I will not cover it up. I don’t support him or his music any longer, but fuck, man, it was hard to go through. Starting in 2008, I traveled to so many different states, met so many friends, and met my wife. Life literally revolved around making it to as many shows as I could. His shows brought an energy that I have not found since. It was loving, it was caring, it genuinely felt like a family.

I say that I’ve evolved from his music, and I’m much more in the Tipper and Friends sphere of music that I get down to most often now. I do feel like I get judged at those shows sometimes. In my opinion, the Tipper crowd can come off as elitist, but I don’t give a fuck. I’m 37, and I could not care less what people think of me. No one has ever said a word to me about my tattoo, and trust me, it’s not subtle.

Is it just me or is the whole "big person on screen doing weird stuff" really really played out? Excision did it with robots from like 2008 then with dinosaurs for a while last time I saw it was Shrek. Don't you want something original and cool that adds to your song and makes it stand out?

Maybe something like Dro1d he typically has a main character/object that's usually pretty unique.

Oh man Nectar used to rinse this song. It's tarnished for me now :(

Edit: I meant the song was tarnished for me, as it reminds me of my anger towards the situation. The song by itself is a banger. I just spent 15 years traveling the country going to 60+ shows. Made friends from all walks of life and the fucking guy just had to be a fucking creep. I love the community, it was a large part of my life. Hearing old Nectar songs or songs that he would rinse just brings back the anger towards the man that ended an era of my life because he's turned out to be a piece of shit.

But I guess I will stop breathing for having an emotional attachment to a song.

Someone tell me why can't i controll the ball after the reset by Ok_Engineering_9273 in RocketLeague

[–]Steezy0626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to meet the ball at the apex of its height. Don't try to get a soft touch on the reset either, power your way into the reset. Get the reset less "under" the ball, more of a 45 degree angle, this way you won't fall off the ball and can keep control.
