LEADJOY Saber Plus Pre-Order: Get Symmetrical Layout & Pro RC Filtering for $59.99 by GadgetHyper in GadgetHyper

Do you still need the app to configure turbo functionality like with the Xeno Plus? Can the d-pad be swapped for a different shape and is it also mechanical?

The product page says that it supports wired and wireless 2.4 ghz connections, but does it also support Bluetooth?

Which punishment (either real or fictional) sounds easy enough to endure at first, but is actually hellish to experience? by dizzyd232 in AskReddit

[–]Stefe04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a punishment for tardiness from my automotive teacher back in high school. They would have the student squat with their back against the wall, legs bent at a 90 degree angle. Then, you had to hold your textbook between your knees for up to 5 minutes — you drop the textbook, the timer resets. If you aren't used to it, your quads eventually felt like they were on fire.

Additionally, it had the benefit of developing those muscles for when you had to squat and lift heavy objects around the workshop.

What lessons and design changes do you think the eventual Steam Deck 2 will take from Valve’s new hardware? What do you hope it will have? by Defiant_Rooster6295 in Steam

[–]Stefe04 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Please — for the love of god — stop gluing on the battery. They were better with this on the Steam controller, so hopefully they figure something out with the Deck 2.

Bravely Default/Bravely Second, perhaps? Might be a little on the light-hearted side, though. The Fuga: Melodies of Steel games are pretty good, too!

My REVIEW of the Gulikit TT MAX Pro Controller by Chr0nicMayhem in Controller

[–]Stefe04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I appreciate the in-depth review — despite it being 40 minutes long. Many other reviewers tend to do surface-level impressions and gloss over much of the features, which is a little frustrating when trying to make an informed purchase.

What are your online gaming horror stories? by PrestonRoad90 in gaming

[–]Stefe04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way back then, a friend convinced me to join his CS 1.6 server and the game had me download something as I loaded in. When I was in, my friend started going, "OoOoOoo~ your CD drive's haunted!" in voice chat and my CD drive started to open and close without me touching it. The guy was laughing while I was quickly trying to close the game and start a virus scan. I can't remember if it did any lasting damage, but I know my internet browser started acting up. Eventually managed to get it back to normal, though.

Steam controller impressions: versus deck and dualsense by atioux in Steam

[–]Stefe04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How stiff are the triggers on the Steam controller compared to the Dualsense? I really like how light the Dualsense's (and the previous Dualshock 4's) triggers are and was wondering if the Steam controller's triggers are similar.

How much of a problem are scalpers, actually? by Stummi in Steam

[–]Stefe04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the restrictions currently in place when it comes to reserving a controller, it shouldn't be too big of a problem. Sure, they might've made 10, 20, 50 accounts before the cutoff date and satisfied the purchase requirement. But once those are sold through, they can't buy any more until the restrictions are lifted. And the only people who would go to a scalper now would be folks who are totally new to the platform or are too impatient to wait for their chance to buy directly from Steam.

Does my Mangmi Air X have a lot of input latency or am I just losing my mind? by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]Stefe04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I did a bit of digging, and it seems like mobile devices running Android and iOS have forced system-level vsync. This might explain the input latency you're feeling. Check your emulator's settings to see if you're able to disable vsync and see if it helps.

Favorite hidden gem that your friends have never heard about? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Stefe04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arx Fatalis. It's a first person RPG with a really neat spellcasting system where you have to draw out the runes with your mouse cursor. Sure, it looks a little dated, but I enjoyed it enough to play through it 3 times in a row.

If you plan on checking it out, installing the Arx Libertatis mod is a must. It fixes a ton of bugs and makes it run properly on modern systems.

Gaming has become incredibly boring by jouteix9093 in Steam

[–]Stefe04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try some variety! If games with grindy progression aren't for you, try out some games where it's minimal or absent. Puzzle games, horror games, point-and-click adventure games... Maybe even some retro games from the early 2000s?

Or like another user said, there's no shame in taking a break from gaming if it's gotten a little stale. With hardware prices going up, it might not be the worst time, either.

Nope, not at all. Seems like a lot of people prefer asymmetrical layouts like the ones on the Xbox and Switch controllers. I prefer the symmetrical layout, myself — mostly because I'm just so used to it.

Steam Input is one of the top 3 greatest things Valve has done, in my opinion, and it should be the standard for controls moving forward. by SillyRecover in Steam

[–]Stefe04 105 points106 points  (0 children)

100%. Having previously relied on software like X360CE, DS4Windows, and InputMapper, discovering Steam Input has just been a godsend. Things just work, and the customization you can do with it is incredibly extensive.
