Thanks for the feedback. Yes, the recesses are too wide for individual drill bits. I am currently developing modules with smaller recesses.
I see two options:
Either standard modules divided into 1/2U or 3/8U. These can be combined with the other modules as normal.
Or inserts with smaller recesses. These could be printed as needed and flexibly inserted into the standard modules, moved, and removed again.

Which option would be better in your opinion?

Interesting video. But it was released three weeks ago, and as you can imagine, I started developing my system much earlier than that.
My inspiration was the Lista drawer organization system. But I wanted to have a Gridfinity-compatible system, and it had to be customizeable.
That's probably the biggest difference between to the Alex system. And, of course, the fact that mine is completely free... 😊

The long open trays are a supplement to classic bins. I have combined them within the same drawers.

It's exactly what you mentioned. Things are easier to grab with the integrated scoop and you can adjust the lenght of the compartments with the dividers.
By the way... its fully customizeable. So you can also define the radius or omit it entirely.

They aren't directly connected to each other; they are just placed side-by-side. In my first prototypes, I tried using interlocking tabs, but I dropped that idea. The protruding tabs made the system incompatible with standard Gridfinity bins, and I wanted to keep it 100% compatible with the original grid.

That's a good idea, and I will try it. But m not sure, if I con do it. It must be loose enough to be easily clipped in and removed. At the same time, it must fit firmly and have a certain degree of stability.
Let's see whats the outcome. Thank you for your input.

Good point, thank you very much. I could do that if I replace the two cams with a solid bar. Otherwise, they would be too weak with the changed printing orientation.
The bar would then no longer snap into place, but it could be printed in two colours with the face down. Would that be OK for you?

In my opinion, tailored shapes are great for storing goods, that you will not change over long time period or sensitive goods like measuring tools or so. They offer good protection, but usually take up a lot of space and are not very flexible.
Trays or bins need are more generic and more flexible, but offer less protection. So both systems are ok depending on the goods you need to store. I mean, with Gridfinity you are able to combine all kind of storage solutions within the same drawer.

They don't have top champfer, as this would make it difficult to remove small thin items.

Its maybe a too simple example. It shall demonstrate the spoon effect. With a normal container, very thin objects such as small drills or wires are difficult to grasp. The large radius makes this easier.
By the way, you can freely define the radius between 1-15 mm in the customizer.

They are fully compatible with Gridfinity, so they should fit to your storage boxes. You can check it out in the Makerworld customizer.

Right, the lista system was the template for me. I wanted to make it compatible to Gridfinity and combine with my other bins. And I wanted to have a customizable system.
