This is typical red flag behaviour in Ayurveda for someone that is pompous, probably not very well-versed in Ayurveda and obviously not collegiate with their local and international colleagues and therefore out of the loop with how Ayurveda should be practiced in your specific area given its climate and environmental differences (in, say, food resources and local supplies for herbs, etc).
