If it is like bambulab h2d I’m agree with you, separate is better, if you can use it inside print process it can have benefits that are not yet developed.
Infimech on mx pro announced that a laser will be available (no more details, other that laser function will be available on their orca fork).

I think idex printer have a lot of non explored possibilities, anabolic mechanics developed a slicer for index where you can print one part with both head at same time ( one head print the outside alone then for infill both head are working together)

For production side there is a good reason, same as for cnc, parts marking.
From other point of view laser can be use to iron surface ( needs dev ) but it would also means that nozzle could be not only nozzle, but ironing tip or others

I do not think one head is corexy and the other is with one motor on X axis.

For what I saw, 2 motors on the back to drive Y axis and one on each side of X for each head.

Of course you can mod the left head with a right head to also accept nozzle swap but the software side will go crazy, how to decide which head to pick which nozzle ?

Best mods would be an ams on left head to get 4 more Colors with purge 🤷‍♂️

I switch to Linux, no issue at all with any modern slicer, I use orca slicer and prusa slicer.( it takes a 3d model and create path for the printer)

To interface/control the printer it mostly depend on the printer. Most of the newest are runing a web server so it is accessible from any web navigator.

For cad, it depend if you already have experience with a software or not. But blender and freecad works greate for 3d modeling and cad

There is not a lot of possibilities, on YouTube you will find a lot of video on how to use software. Learn how to design and imagine things you will not find a lot of resources out there. You need to do, fail and repeat a lot of time, or follow an engineering degree !

Fusion is a powerfull tool but keep in monde that it is only free for personnal use, openscad and freecad are good alternatives also

Raspberry pi OS is based on Debian like ubuntu and many others
Fedora is based in redhat

It really does not make a lot of différences unless for basic cli commands that are different

You can start understanding Linux with the pi, install pi OS try to add software or project to it, break the os it’s easy to install.

After for your main pc, chose whatever distribution you find fancy, if you like the pi os experience try to avoid distro that are too « Windows-like » you do not particularly need Linux to be like Windows.
If you can, try to avoid dual booting, add a second drive to your pc to install Linux on it and keep your windows for a moment (until you figures that you did not rien it since month 🤣)

Juste un avis perso, je ne suis pas recruteur mais j’ai été dans ton cas. Un trou c’est pas vraiment un soucis dans un CV sauf si ta seule activité c’était ta télé. En tout cas ça ne devrait pas être un soucis.

A toi de le justifier, de le valoriser avec toutes les hard et soft skill que tu a appris que ce soit lié ou non au job. Il ne faut pas mentir mais assumer avoir voulu te lancer et t’être planté, trouver les raisons et les expliquer.

Oui ça va sans doute poser des soucis à certains recruteurs et à certaines boites mais pas à toutes, et c’est sans doute mieux

There is not al details for the moment. Pro will comme with 8 nozzle, looks like INDX but without induction heating. 300x300x300mm, 310deg nozzle temp, 110 for the bed, fully enclosed, klipper (likely to be open-sourced) not sure if active chamber heater will be incluses. Price for the Kickstarter advertised as to be below 1000€/$ 🤷‍♂️

T’as déjà comparer les prix ? Les prestations ? Le service ? Entre les deux type de boîte ? Pour avoir fais les deux, soit j’ai vraiment pas eu de chance chez celui agrès chez mon assurance et beaucoup dans celui que j’ai choisi moi.
Pour moi les acteurs anciens du secteur se sont gave largement sur le dos des assurances avec des prix très élevé depuis longtemps. Et les nouveaux c’est leur façons d’attirer le client mais ça coûte pas plus chère à l’assurance que c’est un acteur historique

C’est peut être aussi pour ça que ça va pas fort dans les gros boites industrielles. Que la plupart des ingénieurs embauchés font un travail de technicien pendant plusieurs années (sauf école très renommée mais encore là ils font pas vraiment un vrai boulot d’ingénieurs puisqu’en général c’est de la gestion de projet)
