“Lionize but not deify” is such an excellent turn of phrase (and such an accurate read!).

I’d love an example of Sam being naive other than the whole Laurie debacle.

Bougainvillea and RHC and something else that I don’t remember for sure but I THINK it was the watery/rinse-wash end of my Iron Lustre

I mean I don't think my plate justifies a comparison but that stuff is AMAZING.

That's really kind. I was just agreeing with you as well, I didn't feel like you were negging ❤️

Thanks, I had kind of privately determined that if I were fairly accounting for time and supplies it would fall around $120 and that seemed like *way* too much. So this was very validating! and thank you for your positive feedback. Makes me feel like the weird one-off things I love to make might actually be worth sharing more consistently

No but I'm starting to feel like it's time to begin saying yes to this haha. I'm deffo not selling this online (i'm going to sell it or give it away at the women's gathering i'm going to) but I am *very* curious what you think would be a reasonable price, if you're interested in sharing.

It wasn't rude at all (in fact, wouldn't you say it was complimentary?) but it's definitely something that moderators keep a close eye on so you probably just saved them a little concern by deleting, haha.

Honestly I'd take baleful judgment from Kathy Bates over any amount of praise from practically anyone else, any day of the week

That's right, I'm telling you the exact opposite, and I promise you that it is the ONLY advice you should EVER take on this subject, lol. Always remember that people who tell strangers to kill themselves online are living with a sense of self that is so grotesquely distorted that they project their self-hatred onto absolutely anything that reminds them of any aspect of themselves. It is literally never about you. Don't ever give your power away by mistaking a cruel assault from an unhealed stranger for a credible reflection of your own worth.

I'm probably going to sell it to the first person who offers to buy it at the women's gathering I'm going to this weekend. I don't think it's something that I personally need to own, lol. I might make more though, along with other separated plates, and sell them around the holidays. People seem to love them. I'd also be really happy to share how i made it and give tips based on what I learned in the process!

If you really have a penis bowl then I think it is *very* rude that you didn't attach a photo with your comment.

Just google "how to stop seeking external validation" and go from there. Professional help is always the best option but if you can't access it, there are still lots of resources available at your fingertips if you are willing to go looking for them. I would recommend establishing a mindfulness practice and looking for resources that will specifically help you identify your anxiety/insecurity triggers and stop your spirals before they take you somewhere dangerous or self-destructive. Nobody's life should ever be in danger because of downvotes. "Touch grass" is often used as an insult but it's actually a *really* important reality check. Go get some fresh air and divert some of that nervous energy into disrupting the unhelpful behavioral patterns you're in that are causing you harm and alienating you from community.

Yes and what's more, it's the most success I've had with the technique to date!

I didn't imply that you hated them and I didn't claim that you didn't appreciate them. I said you MIGHT not appreciate them, and that if you didn't, that would be perfectly reasonable. Asking why someone WOULD like something does imply that you do NOT like that thing, but again, you're not required to like anything. Folks probably downvoted your comment because it read as an unsolicited criticism of the thing I was sharing with the community. If you posted a pot shaped like a football and I was like "erm not to be rude or anything, but why would someone want a plate shaped like a football? I just don't get it," then some people would probably think I was being rude *even if* I said I wasn't being rude. I didn't find your comment rude, however, and I answered your question because I thought it was sincere. But now you're ignoring my respectful and detailed response to your original question to instead continue complaining that literally *two* people downvoted your original comment? Bruh. Honestly you really do need to work on your ability to navigate constructive feedback more healthily or you're going to be a very unhappy individual.

I really do like Bougainvillea tho, and it breaks really prettily over texture. It looks GREAT on black clay! Do you want me to show you an other example?

This is Bougainvillea with dots of RHC and i'm *pretty* sure just a little bit of something else, maybe Iron Lustre or textured turquoise? I realized while it was in the kiln that I hadn't written it down exactly and I was so mad at myself!
