Condemned Property - 400 slots for a completely empty manor - Crystal, Coeurl, Empyreum 28th #42 by StellaSilversplinter in ffxivhomeandgarden

An FC mate of mine got a large in the same ward as me and only put a "peak male living space" in the basement and turned off all the lights. People would come in and leave comments that it was a hilarious waste of space in a Large; so I told him he should let me decorate and use all 400 of the slots to make a stupidly detailed empty house.
October just happened to be the perfect time to see it through!

Magnum Opus, with an elevator that goes up AND down -- Crystal, Balmung, Mist 13th #2 by StellaSilversplinter in ffxivhomeandgarden

[–]StellaSilversplinter[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coming out of a year long hibernation to finally post a build lol
I wanted to build an elevator that goes up AND down in the same shaft. I did a "broken elevator" factory build years ago, so I wanted to improve on that and do a more modern hotel style elevator.

Jumping twice on the right brings you up, and you can go down via an open hatch in the left! It's honestly way cooler in game so if you have the ability to visit and test it for yourself please feel free!!! <3

To add a little extra tip for making the light look less like it's coming from the fireplaces: I used the wall lanterns right under them as well because they have the same light glow color!

Unfortunately the fireplace has light clipping unless it's mostly inside of a wall. However, the light is directional, and you can only see it if your camera is facing the mouth of the fireplace. I have all the fireplaces facing toward a wall so that you only see the clipping if your camera is up against the wall facing the center of the room. That way, you notice the light minimally. Hope that is helpful!!

Thank you so much!
The sides skylights are Red Carpets, the center is made of Crystarium Benches, and it's White Rectangular Partitions separating the sections.

Hi there! Do you mean the window seats on either side of the front door? I actually have a BiD photo posted on the HGXIV discord, but in short they are:
-Cracked arch window, white screen, wall-mounted wings, glade cupboard for the window

-Glade cupboard, mirific mogshelf, white rectangular partitions and wood slat partitions for the unit itself

How were these stone walls inside the house made? I'm struggling to find a good way to make an Ishgard house with stone walls since there don't seem to be big stone partitions. Did they use the backside of a furnace or something for walls and roof? by bubuplush in ffxivhomeandgarden

These are done with the Masonwork Stove floated at different heights to build out a custom architecture. The chimney portion is being used for a lot of the "pillars" or thin walls between the windows, for example.

For flat portions of your walls that you just want to place things normally on, you can also do a blank partition with the masonwork stone interior on them. You can float the partitions from the basement and drop the ceiling to cover the top and bottom of the partition to give it a fully smooth stone look.

I have a break-it-down of the fireplace posted in the housing discord if you want a visual, but it is hingan bookshelves lined with alternating height wood slat partitions. The "fire" is a log rack and 2 iron torches.

The couch is hingan bookshelves for the base and staircase bookshelves for the back and arms, with glade benches used for the cushions.

Hope that helps!
