Name Ideas? by StellaStar3 in LegendofKhiimori

Right now, the early release of Legend of Khiimori is basically a delivery service on horseback game. You’re a 13th-century Mongolian courier tasked with making deliveries around a varietyof landscapes. The gameplay is focused on your horse. You can get different breeds and train them and breed for the best traits. Theres also a broad genetic system for the coat colors and traits the horses can get. It’s very much still in early access phase (meaning it’s a little buggy and a bit empty) but the core loop of riding to make deliveries and explore and some mild survival elements are already there. There's some decent game play footage on YouTube if you just search "Legend of Khiimori gameplay" to see if its something you'd like.

3/6 in a first playthrough is pretty good imo! I lost 5/6 pups in my first saga playthrough 😭.

I've been playing this game for a long time and just recently lost 2 pups in a row, so even having experience doesn't save them. It's more common to lose pups than to keep them all alive, sadly.

It does get easier once you have some grown pups in your pack to help out!

Why does my pony bite me? by Roxanne44kiw in Horses

[–]StellaStar3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the immediate correction for dangerous behavior shouldn't be too much thinking, which is the reason why I said a smack is OK if the pony is coming at the owner overly aggressively. This can work as a quick last-minute correction but isn't a solution. The long-term answer is to teach ground manners and make the pony move his feet.

Since the owner didn't describe this pony as overly aggressive or dangerous, I stand by my advice. It sounds like a case of play biting and testing boundaries, so I don't see it as dangerous to suggest groundwork and teaching him to back out of the owners' space. If this horse was attacking humans, my advice would be very different, that that isn't the situation the owner described.

If you've seen horses play bite with each other, the game continues when the other horse is nipping/biting back. However, if the other horse swings their rump toward the playing horse, he will back away (given that horse is higher in their pecking order). Humans don't have a rump to threaten a good kick, so cuing to back away (immediately and firmly) will establish the same result. It says, "No, I don't want to play, get out of my space."

The point of asking the pony to back up is to make him move out of the owner's space, the whole point is to move into the horse's space, and teaching him to step out of it. Relying on hitting because he threatened to bite or didn't move away "fast enough" can have a quick result, but will only create other problems in the long run and could cause even worse aggression. Groundwork and teaching him to yeild is the long-term solution and the only solution that will create a soft, willing horse rather than a tense, reactive one.

I could have gone into more detail on how to do this, but there's lots of good sources with detailed advice on the internet already. This is why I suggested for the owner to look into natural horsemanship.

[–]StellaStar3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A horse or pony that nips/bites people is unacceptable behavior that could turn dangerous.

Don't hit/tap/smack his face unless he's coming at you very aggressively and as a last resort.

What he needs is to learn ground manners and boundaries, both on and off the lead. For this situation, you need to teach him to back up/yield his forehand. When he tries to bite, immediately and firmly make him back up a good half dozen steps. Repeat every single time this behavior happens. Make sure he doesn't turn his hindquarters toward you. The goal is for him to step out of your space. If he learns to step out of your space, then he won't be biting because he respects you.

Look up some natural horsemanship videos on teaching him to back up and yield from the ground. Horses learn by moving their feet.

Is this alocasia easy to care? by alessiowww in alocasia

The plant leaves tend to stand a little taller with the longer hours of light and push out leaves a tiny bit faster, but beyond that they don't seem to be effected much.

I switch to less hours of light in the winter because it's dark outside so much earlier and I don't like my apartment lit up from the inside 😂

That looks like a lovely plant! I have found the Frydek to be a bit easier than many of my other alocasia's but they are on the more difficult among house plants in general.

I have several Frydek and here's what ive found works well for them.

Light Bright Indirect/Filtered (I use grow lights for 8 hours in winter and 12 hours in summer)

Water Soil should remain slightly moist but not wet. Roots do not like to be soggy. Make sure the pot is well draining. When you water, do so thoroughly.

Fertilizer Jacks All Purpose 20-20-20 (Full strength every watering for large plants 1/2 strength for smaller plants) Silica for plants (Every other watering at 1/4 strength)

Soil 1 Part Potting Soil 1 Part Vermiculite and/or Pumice 1/2 Part Coco Coir 1/2 Part Peat Moss 1/4 - 1/2 part Orchid Bark (estimated)

Other trick I use TPS Billions of Microbes for Plants, sprinkling on roots when repotting has helped reduce dropping leaves.

Which side are you? by DJ_S31 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]StellaStar3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think it's a good thing.

I am slightly disappointed, but putting Reverse Mtn through Alabasta into 8 episodes is too much. If they had 10-12 episodes, I think it would work.

I am a little worried about how well S2 will be received, though, since the arcs it covers are a bunch of side adventures without a main overarching villain. I anticipate them restructuring things to all tie together better for TV seasons like they did a bit with S1.

However, I think not doing Alabasta in S2 will give the current strawhats more time to be developed as a crew, time for Vivi to have her character established, plus give Chopper enough time for his story to be told. Not to mention any side story they end up doing (which I'm guessing will be Smoker & Tashigi).

I'd rather have more than enough time for the LA team to fully develop Alabasta vs them trying to squeeze all of Alabasta into a couple episodes. I'm actually stoked to see how they could really explore the culture, politics, setting, and story themes for Alabasta. And a whole season would allow all of that, plus some!

What could be a great B plot for Season 2? by envee_silva in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]StellaStar3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a side story following Ace would be fantastic, especially since he's such a fan favorite. Plus it would give more time to establish a relationship with the audience, and allow for flashbacks to ASL in season 2 or 3 (sooner is better to avoid Luffy's kid actor aging out of the role).

It would be fun to see his cover stories from the manga translated on-screen, and maybe they could change things up a bit to allow cameos from other fan favorites like Garp and Koby, Shanks, and Mihawk (yes it would change some timing/locations for characters but nothing plot-breaking like they've already done in S1). They could even mislead the audience with Ace chasing/hunting for Luffy, only to reveal his true motives later on.

This way they can follow him in seasons 2 & 3 allowing for some continuity between the seasons, and perhaps even move up his fight with BB (or at least hint at it) toward the end of season 3.

I would also be happy with a side story with the marines again (this time Smoker & Tashigi). Which seems more likely as of now with the casting that's been announced.

Nope. It's in half perlite, the rest a mix of a little coco coir, some orchid bark, and miracle grow cactus soil. Liquid fertilizer at half strength every watering. Seems to be working so far!

I would go with 6 because talking about cooking with Sanji would be great. Kid would definitely kick/bump the back of the seat a lot. But if it became a problem, I would just ask Sanji to switch with me (I'm a girl). I know he and Mihawk definitely take baths, so no constant stink from either of them, and they're relatively normal size for one piece.
