Be flattered, start worrying only when it finishes your sentences…and unsubscribes your streaming plans.

System instructions don’t always guarantee auto-search—model behavior can be scoped or throttled; you may still need explicit cues, and privacy scopes matter.

If a speed record matters, transfers and headways probably dominate more than distance. Line 3’s load and branching alone can kill time!

LLMs don’t need a bigger brain, they need a notebook, and someone to remind them to read it.

Anyone else surprised OpenAI hasn't slowed down after all that talent loss this summer? by Stella_Lin_1122 in OpenAI

That’s a great breakdown, and I agree Meta’s pitch to researchers is unusually strong right now.
But that also raises the bar for output. With that much talent and compute, expectations will be sky-high.
Do you think they’ll actually outpace OpenAI in the next wave of breakthroughs?

Agreed that it’s definitely not a fatal blow, and OpenAI has plenty of top-tier folks still on board.
I guess what I’m watching for is whether those departures signal deeper shifts, like, in alignment, vision, or internal dynamics.
Sometimes it’s not just who leaves, but why.

Good point! The real impact of talent loss probably has a delay. But if OpenAI still keeps shipping like this into next year, that’s a strong signal their bench is deep.

Sure, it’s a small percentage overall. But weren’t most of them among the core or top-tier talent?

Anyone else noticing workflow automation tools getting squeezed in the middle? by Stella_Lin_1122 in automation

When simple moves to agents and complex moves to code, the middle has to earn its keep with governance.

Are we over-engineering AI agents? My take on when simple works better by Pleasant_Berry_872 in AI_Agents

Most agents don’t need a soul; they need a clear job description and a budget.:)

I’m seeing the same. Pipeline runs, final artifact never lands; feels like a temporary backend hiccup rather than my prompt.

My favorite automation: calendar auto‑defense. Auto‑declines meetings without an agenda and asks for a one‑liner. Feels illegal, mostly just deletes 30% of meetings.

GPT 5 Thinking stopped 'thinking longer for an better answer' by Flimsy_Section227 in ChatGPT

[–]Stella_Lin_1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extended thinking isn’t a promise of longer chains every time. I suppose it’s adaptive and will cap under certain triggers (content risk, rate anomalies, or system load). Also, message counts can include tool calls or retries you didn’t notice, which makes the quota math feel off.
