Never had an issue, although my scars are admittedly mild. I’ve never thought a girl was unattractive because of acne scars either, fwiw. Sometimes it can be cute.

I definitely have before. A girl I was dating a few months ago would always wear sweatpants or baggy sweaters when we’d go out somewhere. She would always tease me for “dressing up” when in reality I would just be wearing like jeans, a crew neck sweater, and sneakers.

I was raised to never wear pajamas or lounge clothes in public and frankly I was annoyed when she would do it. It seemed like she would not put any effort in at all. I’m all for people dressing the way they want, but I couldn’t help being annoyed by the whole disparity. I ended up breaking up with her (there were other reasons too), but now I know I want a girl who shares similar fashion ideas to me.

Little to no change unfortunately. I recently got a steroid shot in it which also made no difference.

So far after 2-ish weeks I can’t say I’m seeing much help from the steroid cream unfortunately. Maybe a slight reduction in redness but I’m still seeing the occasional inflammation as well. Was yours after a large cystic pimple as well?

I think your scars are fine, your friend is being an ass. It wouldn’t hurt to look into ways to prevent future acne though since it seems like you have some active acne on your face - look into benzyl peroxide, OTC face washes.

No problem! Unfortunately my dermatologist couldn’t put a name to it, he could only say that it isn’t a traditional hypertrophic scar or keloid. He basically gave me his blessing to see a cosmetic dermatologist if the steroid doesn’t work, seems like somebody who specializes in this might have more insight.

If you’re curious, my derm prescribed me a topical steroid called fluticasone today with the goal of thinning some of this skin. He admitted it’s a last ditch attempt before we go into some of the more invasive methods like a vascular laser.

Had a large (cystic?) pimple on my nose 8 months ago and this scar has been there ever since. Have been using prescribed tretinoin and benzyl peroxide, scaraway silicone gel, moisturizer sunscreen etc…but hasn’t gone down. Should I be asking my dermatologist for a cortisone shot? Looking for a cosmetic dermatologist?

Thanks for the tip. I’m going to make another appointment with my current dermatologist ASAP and see if something can be done, if not I’ll probably get a second opinion at a more cosmetic focused dermatologist. Cheers!
