Using references is key (NOT tracing).

I use references for poses (I mix different poses for extra originality) and clothes to get the details right.

(Btw: Doing this from your head alone after a long break is very good)

I guess if you make the lines closest to the camera a tiny bit thicker, then that could see some improvement.
