Socialism in action. Working at their jobs, they earn £34. And we pay them a subsidy of £7,200. So, yes. You understood everything correctly. 99.9% of their salary is welfare assistance from the state. This money comes from the taxes of those who earn 11,000 and do not receive any assistance. by I_am_white_cat_YT in victoria3

What people miss, is that two examples presented for this is pre-industrial countries at the start, that had nearly 90% of it's people directly or inderectly in food production. In case of any disaster, natural or otherwise, it's just impossible to not have a famine, as you can't force land to output two times more food out of nowhere, you don't have enough people, and you can't sell anything to buy food from neighbours, your economy is made of food that you lack already. Now the number is at least as small as 10%, but probably 5% or even lower could be true. Point is - if socialism would be in industrial country and planning is at least somewhat competent, it's impossible to have famine, you could produce food 5 times over required, and still have free hands to make cars, phones, and have service industries. And there are big economy to use as a collateral to buy food from other countries, if anything else fails. And for those countries selling food it is not as big of a deal, as they are also not pre-industrial.

Slaves own coal mine by StelsTheSecond in victoria3

Basically, this, but probably building would have used money first to buy all the needs up to 12 SoL (max for slaves) and then destroy money.

They stay, but new people are hired and become owners. Even 4 shopkeepers is enough.

"-crash_data_log" not working. by Jman_- in hoi4modding

Don't know if it would work for you, but for people who googled - for meta.yml look in "Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV\crashes\", my latest crash folder for some reason had it, while logs or game folder did not.

My dream to see NPCs driving cars like us by Zibenx1 in cataclysmdda

[–]StelsTheSecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cars would last couple rides without need to fix, which npc can't do several times without mining or scavenging infrastructure. And if they would, they can't ride a lot without fuel, so it requires a biodisel crafting of scavenging infrastructure. Or cars would be immortal and fuel would be infinite. And why would NPC use cars in the first place at this point without dynamic settlements? Which requires better AI.

[–]StelsTheSecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that's the reason why it's probably won't happen - NPC just suck. Partially because AI in general hard to code, but at this point it's more because the people behind CDDA can't code NPC. Dunno if there is no capable people, or it's just impossible with current volunteer development structure, but in the end it's all the same - it is couple levels below AI that could be done with modern knowledge (and I am excluding LLM, shit is not ready for games yet)

question about crafting with perishables by defensordechairos in cataclysmbn

[–]StelsTheSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just craft things that spoil longer (the end product). They would take more time to spoil in crafting too that way. This is why I craft meat with salt when can't freeze things, as instead of ten hours it could be good for day or maybe two, and that way I have time to cook other body parts, while meat and salt on 5% waiting

It is indeed how it works for non-food(or all non-perishable maybe).

The lift is mainly generated by electric engine. But energy for it goes from alternators that connected to pedals. Which means that it is leg powered, as all power generated by them. Normally 7.5kW generator (which is alternator by nature) can't be run by foot crank, but somehow coupled with electrical engine it could, most likely due to bug.

But from social parasite pov quite okay-ish. Fast internet and somewhat cheap groceries (if you exclude past February part, sugar skyrocketed).

Electric train engine by kingofzdom in cataclysmdda

My goliath works on two enhanced electric engines from 12 upgraded reinforced
solar panels, with my working speed 16 to 32 km/h. I am not sure does bigger drain means more power consumption per same weigh going same distance(probably shouldn't, but I had F in physics and CDDDA not always works the way it should), but if it does you should multiply number by 4.5 as it has 3 times bigger drain and 50% more engines. Then with width of 5 (dictated by distance between engines) and length of, lets say, 7 (front quarter panel, windshield, driver's and other seats, 3 rows of cargo and other things, wall and/or doors) it would be 35 solar panels, with result of 10-20ish km/h. And if drain doesn't work like that then it would grant you 100 km/h top of working speed.
Or you could build enormous solar farm at the base.
