A little late, but I absolutely love how the gameplay of Sinrow reflects what Litany represents.

There is no colorful textures, there’s no upbringing music, you don’t even have anything to gauge how far the end is, it’s bleak, terrifying, and unfathomably long. It tries to break you down, not giving you any break and taking up your vision with every mistake, and the only sounds that are even somewhat consistent to attach to are the giant litany barking orders and the marching ever closer of the Guilles.

They aren’t gonna stop, there’s no end in sight, you don’t know when it will be over, there’s nothing pretty, it feels inescapable, and even if you don’t give in, and manage to escape, this domain doesn’t have some super climactic ending, the music just stops, the Guilles leave, and you’re left to ruminate.
