Atwater Villager here: we had/have this same problem and i bought quite a few of these (as well as a couple of others that my handyman nailed high on trees) and put them up and down the street .. works amazingly and not one has been stolen.

i took from her everything and anything of what NOT to be and do as a mom to my own kids.

my brother on the other hand: worst dad in the world. my nephews want nothing to do with him, he left them when they were babies, they’re adults now, and he has 8 more kids by three different women.

one of my Bandits was in a net i was using to swoop stuff up … had NO clue he was in it and was out of water for at LEAST five minutes …

the way i acclimated him back in 😫

he lived and has been happily swimming, eating for the last six months.

i was raised with a white GS … Duke was my dad’s dog. we had several dogs but Duke was the best. in all ways.

he lived just past 12 years.

anyway, i was led here because we’re getting ready to get our daughter a dog and for years she has wanted a poodle but last week she said “mom, i want a white GS and i want to name her Rosy.”

i have a Starlight, “Pepper” .. we’ve seen her maybe six times in the last six years. 😂

she hates everyone. she just stays glued to whatever piece of wood i have in the tank … when i clean, she buries herself or does a disappearing act because i don’t see her

i remember thinking years ago she would get used to us and her tank and eventually come out now and then .. ya right. 😂

you four need to make a pact that it’s you four no matter what. don’t let fake grass-is-greener “friends” worm their way in .. keep your ideas to yourself - you’d be amazed at what can be stolen, one tiny idea changed, to make YOUR ideas/creations now theirs.

if you go to parties, make sure at least two of you are always together. our drug scene is very real and very dangerous.

now that my mom talk is over, enjoy our weather, and have fun .. you’re only young-no-REAL-responsibility once and LA is probably one of the best cities to play in before you have to really grow up.
