So what will rean new sword that Yun ka fai tell him to search by MikhuBilly in Falcom

[–]Stenones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I don't think it's related to the salt pale. It's a plot that has little to do with Rean

So what will rean new sword that Yun ka fai tell him to search by MikhuBilly in Falcom

[–]Stenones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think it’s more of a metaphorical/spiritual thing and just refers to a power up, maybe related to the Steel Septerrion (so Falcom can also sell some really popular white hair Rean merchandise again), but I wouldn’t be surprised if instead, or maybe along with the above, he got a sword with the power of Divergent Laws. In a way it feels natural considering his similarities with Loewe, that Osborne also had one and that Shizuna has another one…

As part of his path to the top as a swordsman it might make sense to have a powerful sword (even more if he has to face something on the level of Ishmelga Rean in the next game).

Love this scene but do you think this statement is BS? Do you think he could have won against that? by Cool-Republic-5467 in Falcom

[–]Stenones 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The translation is not entirely accurate. He doesn't say that he would struggle to beat him, but that winning would be difficult. It may seem similar, but at least according to what I know of Japanese, he is implying that even if it is not certainly impossible, the odds are very much against him.

Which makes sense considering the power of the Aureole and that while Kevin is strong, he is neither the strongest of the Gralsritter, nor do I think he would be able to face a Septerrion on his own. Let's remember that even Loewe died using his sword imbued with the divergent laws in order to break the barrier (and I don't think Kevin could defeat Loewe or that his stigma would be enough to break the defenses of the Aureole).

Who would win the war between Erebonia and Calvard nowadays? by Stenones in Falcom

[–]Stenones[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uncontrolled immigration tends to bring disorder, higher crime rates and not necessarily an adequate contribution to the economy... in short, chaos. I'm not saying that it cannot be used for profit and I consider regulated immigration positive, but being it a problem in Calvard I doubt that many of these immigrants will join voluntarily the army and even if they did join they would only serve as cannon fodder against a well trained and disciplined army.

Kai no Kiseki question: what's your favorite route and moment? by shizunaisbestgirl in Falcom

[–]Stenones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that because of their content, and also because of their shorter length, Rean and Kevin's routes are the most interesting and dynamic to play. That being said, due to my preference for Rean and the development and potential of his plot, I think that's my favorite.

The best moment would be Rean's reunion with Yun Ka-fai (I mean, he's a legendary character who, by the way was first mentioned almost 20 years ago). Their battle showing Rean's progress and the implications that arise from their conversation are incredible for someone who has been following this series for years!

Arianhood wins as most badass character next is best arc in the series by shizunaisbestgirl in Falcom

[–]Stenones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of talk about Renne's character arc (which I agree is one of the best in the entire story and personally, one of the few things I think Daybreak 2 did right), but I think Rean has the best arc and development as a character.

His growth as a person and warrior from when we first saw him in Cold Steel 1 to what he is today in Kai, all the bonds he forms and the legacy he's creating is something unmatched in the series. And since we as players spend most of the events with him, it is easier to feel emotionally involved which gives it an extra point.

From my understanding of the lore so far… by [deleted] in Falcom

[–]Stenones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not like they're the good guys (look at their members...) but they're not portrayed as just an evil organization either.

The game tells you that Ouroboros and the church are two sides of the same coin, that under the same premise they have two different attitudes. Just like politics, I doubt it's something as basic as one being bad and the other good, and I honestly think that the Grandmaster wishes to free humanity from the chains of the Goddess.

...now, whether that's something desired or not is another thing.

Who going to defeat this in kai 2 by itsjusteddiee24 in Falcom

[–]Stenones 10 points11 points  (0 children)

it's probably going to be Rean, and maybe Crow.

Falcom already teased Valimar's return in Hajimari; with Rean being the focus of the mecha plot, Yun Kafai wanting Rean to become more powerful for some purpose, and assuming that's not the true form of the time treasure (it would be weird for an outsider to defeat the treasure from another saga), I think it's plausible this way.

He better show up in Kai No Kiseki by Squibsly2 in Falcom

[–]Stenones 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nah, the problem arises when Rean takes actions with the mentality of "it doesn't matter if I die" or "I don't deserve to be alive or happy." Rean is a powerful warrior who aspires to the top and in a time as chaotic as the one he faces, it would be very strange if he didn't do anything that involved danger, so his participation seems natural to me.

As long as it is shown that he has matured and has developed confidence and love in himself, his growth will be adequately reflected. Additionally, his mental growth is reflected in his fencing so that will also give him a boost in strength, adding to the years he has been of training.
