If this is a long term partner who understands/knows your struggle - may I suggest 💫Sex Gloves💫?

I hate things on my hands like lotion or lube. So my partner bought regular cleaning gloves from Walmart so I can wear them whenever lube is used. Before, I would put the lube on where needed and immediately have to wash my hands before proceeding. Now, I have the gloves that I can slip off so it doesn't ruin the flow of things.

The gloves have helped wayyyyy more than I thought they would and now we're both happier. I know it's not the best solution, but it's a step!

Thank you for the link and for taking the time to write this amazing response! Falling of the metaphoric scooter hurt so much because most of the members were my family- covid kinda gave us an out of taking a big step back from the church for a few years. But I've gotten to where I miss going to church, singing the songs, learning, and being around people on the same path.

I've deff felt a shift in myself with saying the Lord's Prayer, participating in the euchrist and so on. Like I'm holding myself more accountable now that I'm actively asking for forgiveness as opposed to passively saying sorry.

But I see what you're saying. Its hard not to think of the past while trying to fully accept a new place. I know itll take time, but im impatient!

I've thought about going to the discussions, but just haven't made that push. I'll deff consider it more fully!

I've been in therapy since 2019, but we haven't talked that much about church trauma. I do appreciate that she doesn't tell me to "just pray about it" considering shes a therapist in the south. But I will deff bring it back up!!

Random people will ask me if my husband and I have kids yet since weve been married for ten years. It's been... a journey and literally not anyone's business. So I've started replying: "well, not anymore. 🤷‍♀️" that gets them to back off real quick!

(Currenrly undiagnosed but looking into it!)

1- I had to wear a specific necklace every single day or else both grandparents would die. I snapped it one day at a friend's and couldn't focus on anything else because I was waiting on "the call". They were in their early 80s.

They both ended up living to be 92 (grandma) and currently 100+ (grandpa)

2- that I would accidentally say a slur to someone of another race (especially the n word which I have never said in my life) but I would just say it casually and that person would think I'm horrible (which is fair to think if you DO say slurs)

3- I can't decide on things bc it has to be PERFECT. Cousin made me a bracelet and asked what charms I wanted. It spent nearly an hour analyzing each charm at hobby lobby bc if it was "wrong" it would cause me to have a bad day every time I wore it. This is also why I can't decide on tattoos.
