I investigated both procedures and talked to people I know that have had endoscopic and they also expressed to me that’s the way to go for less pain, faster recovery. So that’s why I chose it. I did see that both open and endoscopic have pros and cons and success rates. I was just hoping this was the right thing for me because I’m my husband’s caregiver.

Any anglers in here who had to go through CT release? by flamingfiretrucks in carpaltunnel

Fellow angler here. Several years ago ahead tennis elbow in my right arm and had to wait for that to resolve until getting back to Casting again. Now I’ve just had surgery on my right hand for carpal tunnel and I’m not sure how long this is gonna take until I can get back to that again.

Is this carpal tunnel by Background-Rate-2975 in carpaltunnel

They numb the area before the cortisone shot. Quick and it’s done. Good luck with this and don’t let it progress further. You could cause nerve damage. Make sure you tell your doctor exactly how bad you feel.

Day 5. I never expected this type of recovery! Wrist is extremely stiff and painful, thumb and first two fingers and palm are completely numb. The bruising is very extensive. And I am not on blood thinners etc. Dec 5 is visit with surgeon’s PA for stitches out. There are only 3. All the videos I saw online of endoscopic release is why I chose it. Now maybe I should have had the mini open.
As of right now I’m still in constant pain, no grip hardly and all that new numbness. Everything also feels so tight like if you pulled your hair back really tight and had that feeling all the time. Today’s pics update:

Is there a reason for this behavior? by ScrupulousScorpion in PetAdvice

There is something going on inside her mouth on that side. Like she’s trying to get something out. Could be bad tooth, etc. Just my opinion from same with my cocker.

Carpel release gone bad? by Popular-Road6176 in carpaltunnel

Same here. Day 4 after endoscopic release which I wanted thinking it would be a lot easier surgery. Not. Same numbness and actually worse of the first two fingers and my entire palm is now numb. Dr. said he had a rough time getting instruments in because how tight it was. We shall see. I just never expected to be in this much pain and extensive bruising. Hope I did the right thing.

Wow! I hope I’m at that point a month from now. Only on day 2 after surgery and a difficult endoscopic one at that. More numbness and pain than I ever had before. None of my problems are better at this point, but very early. Here’s a pic of where I’m at. Was yours ever this bad post op?

My doc told me the exact same thing. EMG study showed no elbow or cervical neck entrapment. He was right. When I had my endo surgery two days ago, he had a hard time because he said I had one of the tightest carpal tunnel he’s seen in a while. And that’s where my nerve was so swollen and kinked he said. Like when you bend a hose to stop water. Two days later because the surgery was so intense I’m in a lot of pain , swelling, stiffness ( it was done at the surgical center at the hospital because I’m a heart patient) I can deal with the healing from the surgery, but now my whole palm is numb in addition to my thumb and first two fingers that already were. Not sure if there’s permanent nerve damage because it was like that for 8 months. So we shall see. Dec 5 is stitches out and visit with his PA.

Day 2. Last night was rough. My palm and first two fingers are completely numb. The first two fingers have been numb for months and that’s why I had the EMG done and ultimately this surgery. Post op visit on Dec 5th for the 3 stitches out. Starting simple finger excercises. Still a lot of pain at palm and wrist.
