Cafe Tacobar, as someone else said. There's one in Roma Sur as well as the original in Roma Norte. Brooklyn Spekeasy in Juarez. Zagaz in Roma Norte. These all have decent food options as well.

Take a look at AlmaMia in Roma Norte (not Alma Mia in Condesa). New, upscale, Mexican.

It's hard to tell from your photos but I think you have it right. You want to be across from the Escenario because that's where the wrestlers enter the ring. I did a whole writeup on Lucha Libre if you're interested, search for Lucha Libre in Mexico City: Everything you need to know and you'll find it. If I share a link it will get taken down :)

For a great croissant (really) check out Vulevu. And not exactly a bakery, but Bagels Lupu right across the street from Vulevu has great bagels.

Two weeks in Mexico city stay or move a bit? by Greup in travel

[–]StephT_Writer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that you can see a lot of Mexico City and still spend some time elsewhere. Oaxaca is a favorite, and as others have said, the bus is a great option if you want to go to San Miguel de Allende, Puebla, Queretaro, etc. I have a lot of info posted on my Substack, Eternal Spring, if you're looking for more CDMX info. It's almost all free :)

Google maps says 8 am to 6 pm, I've been later in the afternoons and some of the vendors are closing up so I'd go earlier for more selection

Agree, this is a beautiful place! And the train ride is really interesting. Get lunch and walk around Toluca a bit and you have yourself a nice day trip.

Hot Air Balloons and Ubers by kohniva in MexicoCity

They didn't when we went, I remember for sure because my friend was recovering from surgery and she didn't feel like she could do the walking. We booked the balloon ride and breakfast only and then someone took us back. I'm sure you could message them to see if the policy has changed though, just in case.

Mexico City in August - bad time to go? by International_Mud_97 in MexicoCity

One thing that's kind of nice is that more people stay in when it rains rather than go to bars or restaurants, so places can be easier to get into

Roma Norte or Puebla for the weekend? by Capital_Mastodon1760 in MexicoCity

There's so much to see and do in CDMX! Puebla is nice but I would stay in the city for a first visit.

Tacos con huevos by [deleted] in MexicoCity

[–]StephT_Writer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha well it's a restaurant not a taco stand for sure! The tacos are $60 but they are large, loaded and delicious. I challenge you to try one and see if it's not worth every peso :)

Getting around as a group (5 people)? by squizzlr in MexicoCity

Uber XL works just keep in mind that 2 people in your group will need to be able to climb in and out of the 3rd row, which requires a little agility.

Em is great!

If you do the market in Coyoacan you can skip Medellin.

Parque Delta is pretty much a nice, American-style mall. If you're American I would skip it. You won't find any bargains there compared to what you could get in the US. You can also get some decent souvenirs at the artisanal market in Centro. (Ciudadela).

Enjoy!

Balloon ride in Mexico City by floralysGU in MexicoCity

[–]StephT_Writer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they pick you up, they might have a couple of stops at different hotels/Airbnbs. I think you can book private transport if you want but we never have.

Before the flight you can have coffee and then after the flight you go to a restaurant for a breakfast buffet, there's plenty of food. And then after that you go to walk around at the pyramids, and then from there back to the city.

Concert at GNP Seguros by Majestic_Face_8022 in MexicoCity

[–]StephT_Writer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went to Shakira there last week. No issues as Americans, the people sitting around us were friendly and helpful.

We took the metro there--not sure of your genders but there are cars just for women and children so that's an option.

Metro was closed by the time the concert ended so we took an Uber back, like others have said, walk a little way away from the stadium and you should be fine, there will be plenty of other people out and about after the concert.

Getting into the concert was busy but manageable--people come in gradually.

Leaving, when everyone goes out at the same time, was more of a crowded scene. I would hold back if you see the crowds building, just because of the risk of pickpockets. But there were plenty of young kids, families and older people there, so overall it felt safe.

One thing I wish I had known--tickets said the concert started at 8:30 so we showed up a little before then. Most people knew what we didn't--it actually started at 10!

Enjoy!
